After getting bored of Ginger Beef we discovered General Chicken at this restaurant, wow so delicious. The chow mien is so so,... beef and broccoli is good, the won ton soup is nice. We had our rice forgotten once and they made it right the next time, missedit that night though. Then the soup came Wor Won Ton without broth as it was in the bag. I realize the skip driver promised anew one and then the restaurant did not want to send one with skip because of cost, (they have their own driver) but that is aconversation between skip and them. I wanted my soup. What I did not need or expect and was shocked by was the owner phoning andyelling at me about the cost of dealing with skip and why I did not call him for order in the first place at the top of hislungs that my husband could hear him from the other room without the phone being on speaker, he phoned me to yell at me I wasjust expecting soup. I have never been yelled at like that especially before even opening my mouth and when I did all I had tosay was the driver promised me soup, and I am sorry I did not know you still delivered or anyone still delivered their own foodanymore. Good to know for all of you out there that enjoy this restaurants food, please order from him directly it will increasehis bottom line by a lot he said, and if you are local it would help him out he said, as we will not be ordering from himanymore. his food is absolutely stellar, great price, massive portions, attention to detail and willing to customize your combo order.... lunch specials are tremendous on options. honestly for lunch or a great dinner just go here. super great service. love it. willcome over and over for sure. general chicken is top notch! I've had their take-out, delivery, & dined-in (before covid) for years. Their food has always been great, and I have had good... service every time. Prices have been fair, and some a bit better than other Peking places near by. Delivery times have beenexcellent, my last order was delivered in about 30 min. They dont charge for delivery in my location, where there are a fewcloser places that do charge for delivery. Read more
I called and ordered for pick up and it was done very quickly. She said since I got my free item then the discount was only 5%... but when I got home and added it up there was no discount applied to my bill. The rice was good hence the 1 star and the springroll seemed standard. The ginger beef was very spicy but tough. The salt and pepper chicken basically had no flavour. I could dobetter batter on the lemon chicken with shake n bake and it would be cooked in the middle. I will not be getting food from thereagain. Read more
Seven of us (four adults and three kids) stopped into Douglas Peking Express out of desperation and we're glad we did. We'd... tried one restaurant which was closed and another where we couldn't find anyone working. We weren't even sure that we could dinein at Douglas Peking Express, but were made welcome at one of its few tables. The restaurant has no ambience (its primarily atakeout place) but the food and service was excellent. The dishes arrived quickly, piping hot. Portions were large and the foodwas tasty. Our server was extremely friendly making us feel more like guests than customers. We'll definitely eat there again! Read more
