Reviews for Deyar Kabob in Calgary, AB
Excellent restaurant for Afghani food! It was my first time trying Afghani food so I appreciated the menu with explanations and... pictures and reading other reviews. The food is extremely tasty and not too spicy. The mantu was delicious and the kebabexcellent with the bolani. Will be back the next time I pick up someone from the airport! Read more
This had been starred on my Google maps to go to for awhile, and I read the reviews and decided to give it a shot anyway.... Pictured is my chicken salad, which was way overpriced and had very little vegetables. The tomatoes were old and soft. Theinterior was clean and the staff were very nice and pleasant but not enough to bring me back. Read more

There?s a NEW delicious Afghan Restaurant in town! Welcoming Deyar Kabob to the YYC food scene. ???????? If you?re asking,... ?what?s Afghan food?? you must discover the answer. Take your tastebuds on an adventure, try something new. ???? Deyar Kabob isa cozy little family run restaurant in the NE neighbourhood of Saddleridge. It?s a little further out in the burbs than my usualexcursions (downtown dweller here), but so worth the trip. ???? It?s Afghan food, with a Mediterranean twist and everything ishalal. Amu (owner of Deyar Kabob) served us a wide range of dishes that really showcased the restaurant?s diverse array ofitems. His mom is cooking everything in the kitchen which made our meal even more homey. Some of which included: ???? Mantu: anadventure in your mouth! A traditional Afghan dumpling with minced beef, covered in a split pea sauce, yogurt sauce and mint. Iloved the flavours and textures. ???? Ashak: all the dumplings please! This is a traditional Kabul style dumpling that?s filledwith chives and topped with ground beef, yogurt sauce, and kidney beans. ???? Potato Bolani: like naan, but better! A?flatbread? filled with potato that comes with a homemade tzatziki dipping sauce. ???? Borani Banjan: a fried eggplant dishwith a tomato and yogurt sauce. The eggplant melted in my mouth. So tasty! ???? Beef Donair Sandwich: you can never go wrongwith a donair. This sandwich is inspired by the ?Berlin Doner?. Lots of succulent beef donair, veggies and sauces. It makes theperfect lunch! The Potato Bolani and a variety of other dishes are on special during 12:00-4:00 every weekday for pick up ordine-in. Sounds brilliant doesn?t it? ???? Don?t forget to order the green tea. It warms the bones and has a lovely saffronflavour. ???? Deyar Kabob is the type of restaurant you want to go out of your way to support. Amu was so lovely and providedus with a food experience we will not soon forget. ???? I?m eager to go back! ??????? Read more
Food that we ordered was very good. One thing that could be improved is the dish variety for the buffet. Only one dish had meat... in it and the rest were all vegetable based. Would overall recommend to order since it was tasty! Read more
???????????????? ???????? ????????????????????: ?????? ??????: This was HUGE! It?s like a stuffed paratha with potatoes and... chives. I?d totally order this again. I love stuffed breads! ?????: I haven?t been able to get this dish at too manyrestaurants in Calgary and was happily surprised they had it! I love the flavours of the beef, lentils and yogurt. Simplydelicious dumplings ???? ?????? ??????: This was my absolute favourite! I?d never tried this Afghan eggplant dish but it?ssomething I?d order over and over again. If you like eggplant, ???????????????????????????????????????? ????????????????????????????! ??????? ????? ??????? ?. ???? ??????: This huge platter came with rice, fries, salad, and two skewers. Thechicken was nice and juicy, and the beef was quite well seasoned. I usually don?t like raisins in my rice, but they reallybalanced out the savoury dish. ?????? ?. ?????: We loved this dish. The bread it came with was so soft and fresh, it totallyelevated the hummus! ????? ???: Such a good way to start and end the meal. The tea has saffron and cardamom and is absolutelydelightful with a bit of sugar! Follow me @WanderingInYYC on Instagram for all things YYC Read more

I am visiting Calgary for the frist time from Toronto. I found this place on google maps. But boy I neverrrrr thought it would... be this pleasent. We ordered beef tikka and chicken bowl. The meat was so tender & juicy and well cooked. And OMG the checkinshawarma in the bowl with rice was Soooooooo good. Their homemade sauce was so delicious. They also offered some green tea thatI have never drunk before. So soothing and refreshing. For dessert, we eat amazing baklava. Also, their prices were reasonable. Moreover, I want to talk about their hospitality and customer service, everyone was super friendly and helpful. They even gaveus great tips and facts about Calgary in general. I would definitely recommend this place.. Read more
