It has been a while since I've been and I am shocked at how terrible it is now. The chicken is coated in some super thick and... salty coating where before it was nice and crispy chicken skin. The fries were a soggy mess and with it came half a fryer of oiland the gravy was just OK where as before it was the best part. Chicken of the way will now just be a memory of the past, what ashame. Worst I?ve ever had at this location in MacKenzie Town. Had 12 pieces (asked me 4 times if that was all), lg coleslaw and 6... fritters. It was super busy so you would think that the chicken would not be over cooked and greasy. The fritters were superoily as well which never happens. Usually the cooks here are really good. Really dissatisfied as I?ve been eating Chicken on theWay for 55 years. I need to start looking at other options. Not worth the drive to take it back. The picture is the remaining 7pieces. My husband picked up a 20 PC, 2 large fries and an order of fritters on his way home today. For the second time in a month, (I... ordered through skip the first time.) The fries are saturated in oil. They are inedible and soggy. The chicken is over cooked,oil is seeping out from under the skins but the meat underneath is dry and hard. Chicken on The Way was our go to if we wantedfried chicken. Not anymore. We will not be returning for round 3 or beyond. Note: I did call to complain and the manager was notavailable. The young man on the phone was polite when telling me that CoTW is using a different oil as there was a shortage andthe regular oil should be back later this week. This was the worst chicken I have ever had. It was greasy and dry how is that even possible. Not sure but they did it . the... worste part was the grease left on the plate was dark brown when was that fryer cleaned last. I will never use chicken on theway again. ???? Read more

Usually the food we get from Chicken on the way is fantasticly tasty. I was driving by on the way home when. We decide we wanted... chicken on the way. This location could be slower affecting serving size. Or the price of meat could have gone up again. Ormaybe it's that this location isn't as busy as their other locations and the serving size suffers. Either way the slaw was good,the fries were great as always and the fritter was also great. Mind you it may have been the bottom of the bag there were manysmall pieces of fries. We ordered the bonus meal and the bonus wasn't all that bonusy. Docking one star because the chickenwasn't the same size as it usually is. The batter and seasoning was good but the wing piece was small and dry and that's notusually the case. It looked like a wing you get on wing night with not much meat on it. Would rather go back to their McLeodtrail location for better chicken. Read more
