Very good, i bought the snack pack just for me when i got home n it was with: fries, gravy, 2pc chicken and one fritter. Photos don't do justice. Hands down best fried chicken ever. The skin is so crispy it's crunchy, you can hear it as you munch on... them. Well made. Don't be fooled by that large chicken out in the front, he is very charming and after we drove past this placehundreds of times, his charming good looks enticed us in. The inside of the place need a reno, but some of the best fried chicken in town in my opinion. Compared to all the new Korean... Fried Chicken places and Popeyes, I think Chicken On The Way is actually superior in taste - the breasts were perfectly batteredand crispy. Prices were very reasonable and open late, can't ask for more! Read more
Hit this historic Calgary Icon the other day. How did I forget how good it is. If you find yourself on 14th St needing a snack... at 3pm drop on. I love fried chicken and Chicken On The Way has decent chicken... when you go at certain times. When you don't visit at the... right time, you get chicken that has been sitting for awhile and dried out. Chicken On The Way isn't gourmet chicken by anymeans (visit Cluck N Cleaver if that's what you're looking for), but it's great for what it's meant to be - a quick takeout mealwith chicken that has a basic crispy batter and the right amount of grease. If they were consistent with this for every meal,then they would be a great chicken destination. Read more
I stopped at the Kensington Chicken on the way home and ordered two bonus orders with two extra fritters and honey. When I got... home I opened up my orders to fries that were completely inedible they looked burnt and were extremely soggy and the honey whichI asked for was not inside the order. When I called to let them know about my order the lady told me that there was nothing theycould do and then told me that I should know that there are people starving in this world. I let her know that I know that buthere in Alberta we work hard for our money and when we spend our hard earned money on food that we expect to be able to eat itshe then said that if I brought it back that they would refund my money but I wasn?t about to drive an hour back and forth atthe end of my work day. I was so disappointed in there attitude and how they spoke over the phone that I will never go back tothat disgusting place that could care less about their customers. Edit***** I was contacted by chicken on the way a few days after I posted my review below. The employee who spoke to me was... extremely friendly, understanding of the situation and very apologetic. Chicken on the way replaced my entire order withoutany hassle. I appreciate that they wanted to make this right with the customer. This is now the second time we have receivedfritters that are completely raw inside. The first time this happened, I called the store to let them know and the employeedidn't seem to care at all and actually hung up in the middle of me speaking. We didn't go back to this location for severalmonths due to this. We again tried this location again on the 15th. As you can see in the images our fritters were raw. Ourgravy was also cold and extremely clumpy. I contacted chicken on the way via Facebook to notify them about this and was told theowner would be notified, I left my contact information for the owner to contact me. I did not receive any type of apology andthe owner has not attempted to contact me. Going forward we will continue using other locations. Read more
I have a weakness for fried chicken. I've eaten at all or most of the places around till I came across this one. I can smell... fried chicken from the moon ???? there was no smell of fried chicken or fried anything in the air. Got served in 2 minutes. Onthe uber ride home the box wasn't even warm. Soggy cold fried chicken dough drilling off the cold greasy bones. No seasoning onthe fries ???? no smell of fried chicken at all. After we heated it the oven it smells like boiling stale grease.
