I hate to use the Keg as a comparison but I would consider the Keg as the standard for Canadian steakhouses. Not top tier but... not bottom of the barrel. Cattle Baron falls short of this standard in several areas which was disappointing as we presumed theywere a few tiers higher than the Keg based on pricing, reviews and friend recommendations. Atmosphere in the dining room wasn'tcozy, it was very open with tables too close to one another and the lighting was too bright. Our entrees felt overpriced forwhat we received. My $49 ribeye was so bland I thought I had lost my taste and smell due to covid. I will give credit to thebeef quality which was superior to the Keg as it wasn't riddled with inedible connective tissues and was perfectly marbled.However that was lost in 10oz of flavourless meat. Our waitress was weirdly condescending commenting on why we didn't want appysand that we ate too fast and didn't want to stay for dessert. She was just too clingy and we just wanted to pay and get out ofdodge. I wouldn't recommend eating here for a cozy and relaxing steak dinner. Read more

Been here multiple times for multiple occasions and was always met with the same waiter and also the same consistent service... each time. It's a great steakhouse to drop by where the value, quality and cost all align. The steak dishes come with sidesincluded with many options. Steaks are cooked right (to desired liking) each time. Toppings for the loaded potato or the extrafree bread (fresh from the oven) are a big bonus. There are two areas to sit - the lounge side or the dining room. Steaks go for$32-65 (depending on cut and size). Prime rib was also very melt in your mouth style. Would also recommend. Will be coming heremany more times in the future. Read more

Very good steaks. I had the hamburger very good also. The desert cheese cake was very good. They have a good selection of wines... and beers. Staff was very friendly, attentive and efficient with our orders. The place is very clen, organized and we'llmaintained. Washrooms are very clean. Prices are reasonable for a high end steak house. This steakhouse was great, and reasonably priced compared to other fancier steak houses. The atmosphere felt classy and a bit... moody, the 2 alcoholic drinks I tried were delicious, and the bread & french onion soup were lovely. The steak was cookedexactly how I asked for it, they let you pick your own amount of toppings on the twice baked potato, which was nice, and theveggies were seasoned well. The staff were great, our server stayed on top of our drink refills, and the food was brought outwithout having to wait forever. Read more

????????My hubby took me out for my birthday dinner here at the Cattle Baron this evening. Beautiful evening and phenomenal... food. Hubby had long Island iced tea and I had a sweet red wine. We both had the special top sirloin and shared an escargot. I?? my hubby so much, he made my birthday so special. I'd like to make a shout out to our server," Farooq". He was amazing andultimately personable to my hubby and I. Farooq also made my birthday special. Wonderful friendly staff and cozy atmosphere. 2022 June 4? Recommended by locals, this steak house offers some really good steak. Though the sides were just ok. Though again,... every steak house serves the same dull sides. The atmosphere was nice. Very classic setting. Soup of the day $9 a beef soupwith vegetables was ok. Went well with the table of bread. Rib Eye 10oz steak $49 with Brandy peppercorn sauce $5 The star isthe beef. It is tender and cooked perfectly. Kudos to the chef on that. The sauce was good as well. Seafood Linguine $29 Withshrimp, clams and lots of calamari was decent. Chewy and saucy. Fresh Artic Char $35 This was ok. Fish was a bit dry. My server last evening was absolutely amazing. Extremely attentive, made sure to check up every 10 minutes or so, and cheered me... on to finish the Baron prime rib. Really great experience! Came here for a birthday dinner and we were not disappointed. The French onion soup tasted amazing and... the calamari in general tasted good but was a bit rubbery. Also ordered the Steak Oscar, which was reallllllly good with thehollandaise sauce. The Cowboy rib steak was really great too and a nice cut. Both steaks were very flavourful and cooked justright! The cheesecake tasted very heavenly and honestly one of the best I have had in a very long time.
