Reviews for Bridgette Bar in Calgary, AB
Dinner last night was so good! The Crispy hot cheese stuffed garlic bread was a big hit. The bright fresh tomato salad was... incredible. The ricotta dumplings were soft pillowy balls of deliciousness. The halibut was flavorful and fresh. I could haveeaten the whole banana pie to myself...but unfortunately I had to share. This is a great restaurant for a date or a funoccasion, or just because. There is something for everyone. Read more
Food is stunning. Worth it if you can withstand the terrible seating. Service was exceptional too. The wood fire grilled steak... was on par with any high end steakhouse, the Pate is done very nicely, and the tomato with basil oil and sourdough was quitedelicious. The cocktails are also solid. Removed two stars because the table and seating arrangement is an ergonomic disaster.I?m 6ft tall, but when seated, the table was chest height. It?s like they paired standard height seating with counter heighttables. The booth benches are comfy but low, and the metal chairs are incredibly uncomfortable for people with back issues. Asmuch as I loved the food, I won?t be coming back because it?s just not a comfortable seating experience. Read more
Everything we tried here was one of those dishes you would keep returning for. The cocktails were incredible also. Proper crowd... and a good vibe, service was excellent and our server was extremely Friendly , knowledgeable and helpful. He was able to giveus a solid list of happenings in Calgary for the week and named other places to check out also. Overall 12/10 experience andwill definitely be back next time I?m in Calgary. Went for few drinks and a quick bite. Was busy but had enough seating area. Pretty cool ambiance. Excellent service and... recommendations. Bit on pricier side. Food tasted OKAY but we only got appetizers and one main dish so not quite sure aboutother dishes. Portion size little less than expected so would suggest ordering more. Went on a Friday night around 9pm andreservation was not required. Might go again for cocktails though. Read more
This place has, hands-down, the best service in the fine dining scene! ???????? we ordered a drink which was unavailable and the... server decided to give us an alternative drink for the inconvenience, on the house. Exceptional and well trained!???????? Food: 5/5 the italian sausage pasta was amazing, the flavor and presentation are there. The fennel salami pizza wasalso good, though, our favourite was the pasta that night. The Brussels sprouts were also good as an appetizer ???????? Read more
Very nice experience especially for the price. Service was good, food was good. The duck was really well prepared and they... served fries with mayo which is the first time that happened to me in calgary which I love! Who doesn't wanna eat fries withmayo???!! In the Netherlands we don't even dare thinking of fries without mayo.... so +100 points. We had an extensive dinnerwith cocktails and a bottle of wine. We enjoyed ourselves! Definitely nice to go. Great food and decor. Everything we had was delicious, and the service was good as well. Definitely do not pass on their garlic... bread with cheese curd, it is a must. Other highlights were the trout and octopus salad. Everything was cooked perfectly, andall the flavours were on point. Read more
Managed to finally get a reservation for Bridgette bar and see what the fuss is all about. It short, this restaurant is ok but... you don?t miss much if you don?t get to try it. The welcome was very weak and the girls working at the front seemed not to caremuch. We requested our table to be changed and the girls simply said no, but the floor manager saved the night by changing ourtable. The food is good, but it?s not going to blow your mind. The pasta was a bit small and a touch undercooked and it gets a4/10. The halibut was around 4oz I would say, but it was fresh and flaky and it gets a 7/10. The octopus salad barely had anyoctopus and it gets a 2/10 (the chef could be stingy on octopus but who knows). The garlic bread and eggplant fries were goodwhile they were warm, but they brought them way too early (almost 45 min before the main dishes arrive). The drinks were goodexcept one of the cocktails was a bit too sweet. They have an excellent selection of beer, but we were charged different pricesfor the beer, but the difference wasn?t much to bring it up. Overall it?s a good place to go and try some dishes, but don?t havesuper high expectations just because they are always full. Read more
