One of the best place in Calgary for real authentic Austrian and German food! There aren't a lot of places in Calgary where we... can find food that reminds us of home but THIS IS THE PLACE. We had wiener schnitzel and goulash with spätzle that were bothmouth watering and generous portions. Looking forward to come back for the homemade pies. If you prefer something more local,their burgers and fish are great too! I have not seen the same lunch specials the 3 times I've been here and they come with homebaked cookies. And if you have any room left from lunch, then try the dessert! OMG they are TO DIE FOR. Just looking at thedessert menu is enough to make me drool again. Read more
I was invited to a business lunch at The Big Rock Grill and I must say - it was AWESOME! The "Grand Schnitzel" has arrived! Chef... Harry took his favorite Schnitzel to the next level. THIS ONE was 1.3kg and served all 4 people. Accompanied by traditional WarmPotato Salad, Fine Egg Salad and Cranberry Sauce. Had a very nice Bison burger here. It was tasty and unique with it having a bit of a cranberry topping. Definitely worth trying.... The restaurant itself was warm and friendly and our server was the same. Enjoyed my visit. Read more

Our family recently hosted an event at the Big Rock Grill at a very emotional time in our lives. Following a reconnaissance... visit for lunch, we decided that the atmosphere of this location was a perfect representation of the person we wished tohonour. Markus and his staff facilitated our vision for the event , focussing upon our requests and making suggestions toaccommodate our desired menu, beverage service and event set-up to provide the best experience for family, guests and grillstaff. Markus took everything into consideration, including music, slide show presentation, table arrangement and ourwell-being. The buffet was delicious and well laid out, the staff available yet unobtrusive and the ambience exactly thepeaceful place that we wished for. We truly felt listened to and not pressured in planning the event . Our guests left withpositive comments about the food, service and facility.
