Reviews for The Timbers Restaurant in Cadillac, MI
I am ashamed to say that I have passed by this little gem at least 100 times when I travel, and I?ve never given them a chance.... This place is awesome!!! It?s rustic, quaint, up-north-y, and just what you?d picture a locally owned rural restaurant todeliver. DO NOT pass this place!!! The staff was so kind to us, the food was delicious (pizza and comfort foods, mostly). I wasabsolutely thrilled and surprised at how much I enjoyed this little rustic hideout. They also promote and carry several localbreweries. Great dessert menu also. Read more
We were glad we stopped and gave Timbers a shot. We had heard of Timbers for some reason, so we thought let's try it. Boy were... we glad we did. The outside does not scream "great place" but the staff and food will outshine any hesitation you have on theoutside decor. The inside was rustic and to go with the name, lumber oriented. The place was not that busy when we stopped, thus we had zero wait. We were seated at a high top for four. The place has high tops, regular tables and booths for yournormal dining experience. They also have a full bar as well. The only downside in my opinion were the bathrooms. The staff, especially our waitress was extremely nice and helpful with our food choices. Her recommendations were all a hit with us and weappreciated her willing to tell us which items were good, beyond "everything" is good comment. We shared the "Water's EdgePlatter", which was a wonderful assortment of things to include grilled shrimp, deep fried shrimp, baked white fish covered inseasoning and Alfredo, fettuccine Alfredo and the vegetable of the day, which was asparagus. The dish is $25 but we split itbased on our waitress's recommendation. Each plate came out with basically the exact same thing and we were most pleased wesplit it as it was more than enough to split. The white fish was seasoned really good and the alfredo sauce made the flavors socreamy. The grilled shrimp were done to perfection and the seasoning was just strong enough but not too much to overpower anyof the shrimp taste. The deep fried shrimp was very tasty, especially with the shrimp sauce. The fettuccine Alfredo wasextremely good and the Alfredo was some of the best we have had. Our waitress said the food is all prepared by culinary chefsand it's easily believable. The asparagus was a bit mushy but very tasty and complimented the plate well. The hard roll was abit too hard for my taste but I ate it without too much complaint. Ok, now for the dessert! The caram Read more
My expectations were based on the reviews I saw online and boy did they come through on the delivery. The steak was outstanding... and tender AF for coming out of this place I was amazed. Service was on point as well. Stopped here on the way back fromtraverse city and will now make a point to stop here regularly when possible. Great job everyone working as a team and it shinesthrough. I HIGHLY recommend visiting this restaurant! Besides the food being absolutely delicious the staff was OUTSTANDING! Ashley, our... server, was on it! She payed attention to the food allergies. Made recommendations. While we ate and finished a dish the staffwas on it and removed the finished dishes. I've only ever experienced this quality of service in Mexico City at a high endrestaurant. The Timbers staff dederves a KUDOS! The next time we're in Cadillac, we will make a call. Read more
Place was just mediocre. Maybe partly because it was late? We ordered the New York strip with baked potato & a seafood plate.... Steak wasn?t very tender, baked potato wasn?t fully done and side salad was more like chewing grass than having a refreshingbite. Whitefish was mushy, the batter on the shrimp was too thick. And for a supposedly good restaurant? The tarter sauce shouldbe homemade, not that generic, pre-made sweet pickle stuff. Try making it with dill. Best part of the meal was the coleslaw, that was on point! JS, When you pay good money for a meal? It should be delicious, not left on the plate. Read more
We tried to go here a few weeks back, but didn?t realize it was homecoming and it was an hour wait for a table. We came back... this week, and were very happy with the experience. We were seated right away. Our server was a friendly & energetic. Once weordered, our food came out with beautiful presentation. We eat out a lot and I can say that the plate was probably one of thebest looking dishes that I?ve seen in a long g time! The restaurant was busy, but you didn?t notice it in quality of waitstaffor food. We didn?t walk away disappointed or hungry! Read more
It's been three years since our last visit. Much too long. Still as good an experience as prior visits. Went with friends. Our... waitress was very nice and attentive. All of our appetizers and meals were prepared promptly and were very tasty. Place wasbusy, but did not feel or sound crowded. A bit pricey, but feel that it is still a good value for what you get. This a wonderful place with excellent service, heck the waiter even brought over two 3oz samples of local brews to try prior to... ordering. Now I have a weakness for blackened prime rib which usually does not serve until 4:30, but since we were early hetalked to the chef and they were more than happy to accommodate! Absolutely Wonderful! Prices are reasonable and really enjoyedcelebrating my wife?s birthday a day early, highly recommend!!! Read more
