Reviews for St. John Restaurant in St Martinville, LA
I am from the San Francisco bay area and have eaten at St John a few times when visiting my relatives in New Iberia, St... Martinville and surrounding area. The food is always amazing. I tried the steak last weekend which was really really good. Congrats on winning Teche best steak in 2022. Cheers! Read more
The food was great and the service was wonderful. Only complaint I spoke to the manager/owner about was having Starbucks coffee... signs on the tables. I am a strong believer in supporting your local businesses & companies from WAY out of state! He told methat he did serve Community Coffee & showed me a sign on the wall. I told him that was good, but not good enough. Starbucks wasnot acceptable & as good as his restaurant was, that was very disappointing for him to promote Starbucks. I'm not sure I got thepoint across, but I certainly put my 50 cents worth of what I thought. I asked one of the waitresses about it & she said thatthey had talked to him about it, but got nowhere. She pointed him out to me & I did my best. He seems like a wonderful person, except for this. I asked him if he used any seasonings other than local. He proudly said no & pointed to the Tabasco, etc. Iasked him one more time to please consider getting rid of the Starbucks & I hope that the next time we come back, there aren'tseasonings from New York. So, obviously the Starbucks sales person did a good job, so the Community coffee sales team needs tostep up & make a better offer or at least match it. Thank you for listening & if you feel the need to offer another brand, thenat least make it Luzianne. Amen. Read more

This is a quaint little restaurant with an inviting atmosphere and great menu options and wonderful staff. It looks like a... repurposed building with a lot of history. All of the staff were welcoming and polite. The menu has the right balance of optionswhile at the same time not being so big you don't know what to choose. We both had the ground rib eye filled with cheese and itwas delicious, well seasons and a generous portion. The grilled veggies were very good but could have used a little moreseasoning for my taste. It is on the river so I found the county view very relaxing. We will go back, no doubt. This would bea great spot to go with a few couples for a nice night out. (Guys - don't be fooled by the women's sign on the inside of themen's room door????????). Read more
Recommended to us by a local, St. John serves outstanding Cajun cuisine, especially seafood. My partner and I shared the fried... alligator (appetizer) and the bronzed mahi mahi (entrée), which were not only delicious but also perfectly filling. The placeis pretty big and popular. Service was a bit slow because we arrived during peak hour (around 7pm). Our dinner was great, nonetheless, and we'd gladly come back. Read more
Food here is amazing and the service was top notch.
Sam is the perfect manager. Reminiscent of Ms. Joanne at Upperline, she engages with guests to make them feel very welcome.... Keith in the open kitchen takes great pride is his and his team's creations and often checks with the guests to ensure they aresatisfied with the food. Anna was a great waitress, friendly, attentive and graceful. The food was excellent. The seared gulfredfish was cooked quickly to sear the outside and keep the fish tender and moist. The oyster appetizers was a unique offeringvisually and in taste. I'm sure we will be back. Read more
Great atmosphere and service. The Crab Boulettes were the best crab mixture I have ever had! Fried perfectly. Thcheese sticks... were typical cheesesticks, but the marinara sauce was delicious! Garlicy and cheesy perfection. Our entrees of Crawfish Bisqueand Shrimp pasta were very good. I would like a little more flavor in both. Bread pudding and pecan pie desserts were fantastic! Read more
