We had our wedding here and it started out great. The lady we met with was open and clear about everything and was all for... making our dream wedding come true. She retired and we got stuck with someone who had never run weddings and did not know how tocommunicate. It took almost 6 weeks to get a reply on questions we had. Their staff were extremely rude to my guests, the roomswere moldy, run down and not well out together. Many of my guest had to be moved ti new rooms. Some of their smoke Detectors inthe rooms did not work. They gave us one invoice the night after our wedding and then almost 3 weeks later charged us anotheralmost thousand dollars without our permission. The owner Kathy was extremely rude and disrespectful when I confronted her aboutthe new charges and actually hung up on me and said she would only speak to my husband. The food was cold and dry and one oftheir staff ate one of our cup cakes we had saved and set aside. Save your money and have your event somewhere else. You willregret using Lakewoods. Read more
Excellent place, i was here for a friends wedding and i was a bit worried being a Golf resort that i wouldn't have anything to... do, i was wrong. They had a valley ball Court, several docks and lake access for fishing or swimming, pool, hot tub, smallarcade. And a nice bar to settled in and relax in the evening all in all it was a good experience. Read more
Love that price includes usage of canoes, and kayaks. My kids and I had a lot of fun here. Staff was very sweet eachday we were... here (2 nights/3 days). Pools were nice, hot tub worked, sauna not available due to COVID, which is fine. We arrived at pool,where I was about to start blowing up inflatables when a staff asked if I wanted help as has air compressor. He took them andreturned a few minutes later with them all filled. Hotel room was clean, however surprising thing was no microwave, which Iguess I'm just use to having in rooms. My sister, on a special diet, stayed with us, and front desk lady was kind enough tomicrowave her food for her though. She also gave her some of her own Tylenol when she had headache and got opener for my kidsroot beer bottles. Like I mentioned, staff there seems to enjoy their jobs there and like helping others to go out of their wayto do so. I was also surprised that no outlets near beds, however, they have extension cords so sister could use cpap machineshe needs to sleep. They have a way to manage it ??. Very impressed with the resort! We had a big group with many rooms. The rooms haven't been updated in many years. Although it looked clean, there was an "old"... smell. In one room there were wrappers under the beds, one room had dirty carpet, and another the air conditioning didn'twork. Breakfast each day was excellent. Although more staff was needed in the restaurant, the young server with the long hairpulled back was kind, sweet, great with an elderly man with special needs, and did a great job with our large group. Friendly and family atmosphere. S'mores or Sundays! Live bands, indoor and outdoor pools, friendly and accommodating staff. ... Boat rental along with all the toys and life jackets you need. Bait shop has a variety of bait from worms to minnows. Had agreat time! Read more
We stayed in the cabins and it was a blast! The cabin was beautiful and had a great swimming spot down by the pier. We had so... much fun and we will definitely be coming back. They had great pools and amazing food and some nights they would do free s?moresfor the kids. Very nice resort Read more
This is one of our favorite stops and we often plan bike rides with a stop at the restaurant. ALL of their food is well... prepared and good tasting. We love to stop for appetizers and a drink - our go to items are the cheese curds and walleyefingers. We take friends there for dinner and it has always been a wonderful experience. The view of the lake is beautiful andit is fun to talk out by the lake after a meal. It has been a number of years since we stayed in the hotel BUT it is anexperience that we both fondly recall. Had our wedding in September. Most staff was good but had quite a few guests complain about rude wait staff in the restaurant.... The bar and restaurant were nice but the hotel rooms were old and a few guests moved after they discovered mold In theirrooms. Had a bad experience with the wedding planning staff after our initial contact retired abruptly. There were a fewsituations that were handlers great but over all I can?t recommend this venue for your events. Read more
