Stopped by on 9-30-22 for a fish fry on a family vacation to the area. With such great reviews, we had high expectations. We... were seated quickly without reservations and despite there being quite a crowd. That all seemed good. It was a while before awaitress came by the table to take our order. While taking our order, she excused herself to deliver someone elses order. Whenshe did come back, we ordered the fish special. We waited nearly a half hour for the order. When it arrived the fish andpotato skins were cold. The potato skins were also burned so they must have been sitting for a while. Had a beer and a brandyold fashioned at our table that were excellent! The service and food left a lot to be desired this night. Wait staff is anissue everywhere these days but the crowd should be no surprise to an establishment with such a great reputation. Disappointingservice and food for us. Read more
The staff other than the wait staff in the restaurant could care less whether you were there. No ownership available to talk to,... all run by employees wbo really don't have much interest in helping you concerning fishing on the lake. The so said marina andbaitshop do not exist. The people that are at the front desk don't have a clue. Hats off to all the fine waitresses in therestaurant! If your a fisherman stay away. Read more
Go directly there do not pass go do not collect $200 get to this historic location for a view of the lake that is impeccable. We... had lunch there the bartender Greg was perfect if not better than anyone ever. A patty melt a smoked brisket and the garmishdeluxe was our selection and we couldn't have picked three better entrees. Read more
My family has been coming to this resort for years, and the offbeat style and beautiful lakeside location keep us coming back.... The main lodge is done in a rustic Alpine style, and other cabins you may be able to rent have eclectic styles, from German tofantasy castle to classic log cabin. The only thing I would recommend is bringing your own towels if staying in the cabins -they aren't always supplied. Read more

Great, great location. Veranda and view of Namakagan lake beautiful. Gotta tour the old lodge. Food definitely more than... adequate by north woods standards. Old world charming bar with updates. Read more
Great atmosphere and unique place. The staff was extraordinarily friendly and on the ball.The food was wonderful but a bit... pricey but worth it for a special night out. I was very impressed with all of it. I will definitely make another trip soon. Read more
Loved the old lodge atmosphere! Enjoyed great service in the dining room and highly recommend the bread pudding. Our room was... cozy with a cute fireplace, I think a room on the second floor would be more private. We hope to return in the summer to enjoyboating on the lake when the water is soft... Read more
