Everyone who works at this park that we interacted with was very kind and helpful. Even the campers, RVers and people we met at... the playground were nice. We tent camped for one night. There was a variety of lots available. There were spots against thewoods or along the creek. We grabbed a spot in the middle near the bathrooms (lot 65). You could get just tent camping orelectricity and water. Each lot had a place to park your vehicle; a fire pit with a grill on one side; and a picnic table. Theyalso had full hookups for RVs that had sewer included. We brought our dog and we appreciated the dog waste stations throughoutthe camping area. We purchased firewood at the rangers' office near the entrance to the park for $6/bundle. There were not a lotof bugs this time of year. There was plenty of shade from mature trees. The ranger on duty made rounds all night. We heard a lotof different wildlife at night: owls; coyotes; geese; crickets and some other unidentified braying. Because we were close to thebath house, there was a bright streetlight that lit up our lot. We could also hear the exhaust fan in the bathroom runningconstantly from inside our tent. If you don't want the light or white noise pick a spot that is further away. The next time wego, we will go for more days so we can hike the trails and get to the water. I would also buy more firewood as one bundle wasn'tenough for one night. Read more

MBSP is really a gem. While traveling with my granddaughter (16yo) during this summer heatwave the trees are a blessing and... electricity that holds up to the demand. So far we have stayed on #70 & 82 Level and partially shaded. Water and Electric(50amp) We loved it so much we booked another stay in a week on #33 FHU will edit after that stay. There are 116 sites nicelyoutlined with wood landscape timber, large picnic table and fire pit. Note some water bibs are a bit far. The bathhouses areadequate and cleaned daily. The shower has 2 hooks and no bench. 12miles of trails and accessible from campground. SeveralRanger lead activities on the weekends day and evening. We attended the Nocturnal walk hosted by Sara. We had a mix of youngerkids to retired folks all seemed to enjoy. Spend a morning on the Lake Woodhaven canoeing and fishing with a Ranger(Destiny)very enjoyable. Read more

Overall great stay! Beautiful views from the lobby and our room. All staff was super friendly and helpful. They have a gift... shop, restaurant and bar all on the floor with the lobby, restaurant was quite busy so I would suggest going more towards 5pmwhen they first open for dinner, food and service was great tho. The only down side for me was the bed, the sheets were veryscratchy and the pillows and beds weren?t too comfortable. The rest of the room was wonderful tho. Read more

Montgomery Bell State Park is a lovely place to hike. The Jim Bailey trail follows a beautiful creek and had a variety of... wildflowers in bloom. We picked up the Montgomery Bell Trail at Church Hollow and followed another beautiful creek. We alsochecked out the spillway at Lake Woodhaven. Then, we had a delicious lunch at the park. I look forward to returning. Read more

Awesome park with great hiking trails, mountain bike trails, a nice campground, hotel, restaurant with killer outdoor patio and... a golf course. All within a 40ish minute drive to Nashville. We're staying at the campground and like it overall. It's olderand, from what I hear, will be receiving some much needed upgrades over the next few years. We will definitely be coming backthough. There's plenty to do and see and it's super family friendly. All the campground host have been super friendly. Thebathhouse, near campsite 1, is definitely older but still decently clean, has plenty of hot water and overall serves it'spurpose. Between the hiking, abundant creeks to cool off in on hot summer days, the lakes in the park, and other amenities,it's definitely worth checking out and has move up to one of our top favorite state parks/campgrounds to visit that's close tohome, we're from Nashville.
