We used Jacobs Smokehouse as our wedding cater and let me say they are AMAZING! We received nothing but the best complements of... how great the food was. Jason and Monicka made our lives so stress free during the entire process; and we?re very friendly andaccommodating for our budget and needs. We can?t wait to eat there food again when they come to town or when we can stop bytheir restaurant. If you need catering or are looking for a home cooked meal, look no further. I?ve been cooking and visiting bbq places most of my adult life. And Jacob?s turned a new page in the history books. This is by... far the best bbq I?ve had in the last 20 years. Spanning visits to Texas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, and everyone inbetween, Jacob?s is the shining star you should be heading towards for awesome bbq. I had the sample platter. Burnt ends werecooked to perfection and were tender and juicy, with a crisp burnt crust. Ribs had an amazing smoke ring and pulled off the bonegently, perfectly like you?d dream of. The brisket was also tender and had a wonderful gentle smoky flavor. Now?. New to themenu, Jacob brought a sample of pineapple pulled pork. I?ve never been a fan of fruit mixed with meat. But this combination,cooked the way Jacob blended them together, was by far the most amazing food experience in my entire life. I was proved deadwrong that fruit shouldn?t be mixed with meat. This has completely changed my perspective of trying meats mixed with fruit. Mywife had the Mac n cheese with brisket. I wasn?t a big believer that this would be anything but mac n cheese with brisket thrownin it. Yet again, I was proved wrong. The seasoning in the Mac n cheese had a savory hint that really married together with thebrisket. One flavor didn?t overpower the other. It was so delicious. We greatly enjoyed our BBQ tonight. The bark on the Brisket was excellent. The new Hawaiian pull pork was very tasty. Try his... Bourbon sauce, sweet and lots of flavor. We both had the sampler platter and they gave us a ton of food. Off of the beatenpath, but worth the trip. We will be back. Read more
This barbecue is absolutely incredible- I am so pleased to have some of the best barbecue we?ve ever tasted this close to... home. The sauces are all amazing, especially the ?Competition? and Bourbon sauces. The rib ends, dry rub ribs and brisket weremy favorite but honestly you cannot go wrong with any of it. Great authentic smoke house, Best ribs l had in years, we also had smoked brisket sandwich and loaded french fries, which were... great. We met the owner who gave us to tase samples of what he had to offer. It's only 15 minutes drive from Lake Geneva, youmust stop there. Read more
Stopped in for lunch. Of course we could not choose just one thing so settles for the combo & chicken sandwich. The burnt ends... weren't done when we ordered but the owner came out with some while we were eating. Really enjoyed the chicken sandwich andpotato salad. The ribs were good. Wish the brisket would come out without the sauce on it. Dragon Fire sauce had a little spice,but very sticky honey based. Friendly attentive staff. Read more
Don't be fooled that it's connected to a gas station. This is fantastic competition barbecue to die for place. The husband and... wife team couldn't be nicer and are extremely passionate about their food and their homemade sauces. They even gave us a tour oftheir smokers in back that they made themselves. This is not your typical barbecue restaurant. You must try this one of a kindgem in Burlington. We weren't brave enough to try the hot sauce made with Carolina reaper peppers but maybe next time. My first time here as I was in the mood for BBQ and wasn?t in the mood to drive too far and I really enjoyed the rib dinner and... loaded potato with pulled pork sour cream cheese and green onions. We placed the order at the counter and the food was broughtto our table. My husband liked the ribs as is but I wanted to add some heat and I?m glad I didn?t try the super spicy and thedragon fire was perfect for me, just the right amount of heat. Cleared the nostrils if you know what I mean! Everything washomemade and super tasty.
