Wow! I just happened to think of THE GOLDEN DAWN. I worked here in 1986 to 87. I was a Waiter here and got "trained" by Jimmy... The Greek. Being a Diner Waiter is a skill. I used to make a boatload of money here....I look at the photos and remember wheremy Tables were,and where Arty would stand. Phil was the owner and his brother had a spot further up 130. I ordered the chicken fried steak and eggs. The eggs were the best part of the meal. They were done close to over easy. The... pancake was thin and you could tell it was mixed with too much water. The American fries were barely browned and had zeroflavor. The chicken fried steak was the real deal breaker. They used some kind of fish breading and it falls right off when youcut into it and the gravy they use isn't a sausage or a white gravy. To be honest, I don't know what it was.
