Reviews for The Buffalo Tavern in Burlington, IA
It's these little places like this that have the best food. The boneless chicken wings were huge and amazing! The buffalo... chicken sandwich is so big it's hard to take a bite out of it. Definitely worth the money. The fries are good too. Read more
I was in town visiting family, and due to flights I was on my own for the last night meaning I needed somewhere to grab dinner... on a Monday night. I wasn't feeling any of the chain establishments on Roosevelt and several other places I wanted to go weren'topen, so I decided to give the Buffalo a try. Menu looked pretty decent but opted for "Taco Monday" tacos which were a bitdifferent (the shells seemed like deep fried pita?), But extremely large and filling. I got two, but honestly could have gotaway with just doing one I think. Read more
The restaurant hides out in what seems a residential area and looks like a large house itself. Food was very good & service was... perfect. Cozy dive bar feel with neon signs & music included greats like Queen, Steve Miller Band, Heart, etc. Would onlyimprove the slippery floors & outdated bathrooms. Read more

We went yesterday on Prime Rib special night. We had The King Cut prime rib with baked potato, beef nachos. The prime rib melted... in my mouth seriously one of the best I had. Great service and cold Guinness. Fiancée had the Tavern punch drink and said itwas delicious. The outside of the building may make you think twice about going in ,GO IN. Plenty of seats, good music, friendlyclean atmosphere. Read more
IDK why we felt a lil uncomfortable about going in after finding place online. (Out of towners) We were AA. Maybe cause we had... on masks due to C19 and you didn't have to wear one I guess but we stayed anyways... and you can tell neighborhood was Caucasianbut anyways, the food was pretty good. Read more
Review Date: August 8th, 2016 Buffalo buffalo buffalo buffalo buffalo buffalo buffalo. I like to say that bar food is the best... food, so when I am out and about exploring, I try to find pubs that have good reviews to eat at. With that train of thought inmind, The Buffalo came up on my radar one day after exploring Iowa. Having an empty belly that kept reminding me to get somefood, I headed over to The Buffalo to see what they offered. Upon entering, I was greeted with the usual dim-lit bar scene.Nothing was too bright but nothing was too dark. It was the right mix of each. As for the bar itself, it was your typical barwith the usual decor that you see in most bars. What was unique about this place was the massive amount of writing on theceiling. It seemed almost every ceiling tile had something scrawled on it. There may be a story to it, but it?s not found onthis out-of-towner. I ordered the The Western Bacon BBQ Burger with fries. I remember being disappointed in the small size ofthe burger but rather enjoying the taste of it and the fries. The small size of the burger was made up by the fries and I leftwith a mostly full belly and a smile on my face. Within reason, I am okay with smaller sizes if the flavor/quality blows meaway. At some point during my visit, I noticed they sold those gimmicky pull tab lotto tickets. Being the sucker for a cheapthrill, I bought 2 for $1 or something like that. I won something like $0.50 and bought another pull tab.. which was anon-winner. Between the unique ceiling, tasty food, usual bar environment, and friendly customer service, I would have to sayyou won?t be buffaloed by visiting this tavern. Read more
They make a great fried pork tenderloin sandwich. I got mine take-out to share,
