If you love Japanese curry, this is seriously a good option to try out in Downtown Burlingame! You join a waitlist at the... entrance of the store and they text you when your table is ready. On a Saturday at 1:00 PM, there was a 15-20 minute wait. Igot the Karaage Curry and I loved the texture of the meat! The breading was gummy and the chicken was dark meat, so prettyfatty. Very juicy and they give a mayo sauce to dip it in. The potato salad was light and balanced the curry well. They give agood amount of rice and cabbage! The curry itself was VERY FLAVORFUL too. Very delicious and addicting, but wow... I think I gotonly 1/3 way through my plate before getting full!! BIG PORTIONS. Definitely great as leftovers later. Read more
Got Katsu Chicken curry, and korrokke. Best part is definitely the katsu. Thick juicy pieces of katsu, can never go wrong. The... curry is on the salty side. Corn Soup is thick and has some flavor, but I would skip it if you've ever had Curry House Cornpottage. You can personally choose your spice level based on the 5 different spices on the counter. It's a cute little shop with some outstanding curry. The menu is small and for good reason, they do all their dishes really... well. Definitely some of the best Japanese curry on the peninsula. Curry Hyuga's curry has a very complex flavor that leans abit towards slightly acidic with strong onion tones. Read more
This place is incredible! I had the hayashi omurice $15.50 + add on corn potage soup $2 + add on karaage $4. The corn soup was... creamy and delicious. The beef hayashi had a good tangy taste with pieces of beef and mushrooms. It tasted great mixed with thewhite rice. Usually omurice is made with fried rice. I prefer fried rice. But somehow this still worked. Great job everyone atCurry Hyuga. I love how they are opened until 10pm. Read more

Ordered the vegetarian curry and the corn soup. Came in a big plate with pumpkin, bell peppers, egg plants, pickled peppers,... potato salad and rice. Curry was tasty and the vegetables were excellent. I think they deep-fried them. The corn soup was verygood. Its like corn puree with bits of corn in the bottom. You can also taste a hint of butter. We went in as it opened thedoors. By time we sat down, the place was packed. It's not a big restaurant. No reservations but can be put on a wait list. Ourwaiter was kinda new and had a language barrier. I asked him a few times that I needed a fork and he didn't have a clue until ishowed him a fork. Other than that, you should give this place a try. Just go early and you will get a table right away. Read more
