When we got engaged, my husband and I knew we wanted to have a cake tasting at Deerfield's. My husband had raved about them for... years since they provided the birthday cakes at his office and I was excited to finally get a taste for myself. Given COVIDprotocols and just general availability, we opted to do the at-home tasting kit. We placed the order online and picked it upwithin a couple of weeks. Don't think that because we did it at home it was any less thorough--we had at least 20 mini-tastingsof frostings and fillings and 10 single servings of each cake flavor. We were so glad we invited my MIL to help us taste athome! To help us make sense of everything, the kit came with a guide where we could take notes and rank our favorites. When itcame to finally placing the order, our contact Debbi answered all our questions. She recommended the size of the cake given theguest list, what fillings may or may not go well with the type of cake flavor and made it clear what was and was not included inthe final quote. The day of the wedding, the cake was delivered first thing! We opted to have a naked cake with minimalfrosting given our aesthetic (and that we in general aren't a fan of frosting) and the team executed this vision as desired. Notto mention it was DELICIOUS! The bottom two tiers of our cake was marble with cherry filling. Our top tier was carrot with creamcheese frosting. All i can say is WOW! Donna and her team did an incredible job making the custom cake I got for my wife's birthday. They really... pulled out all the stops and even helped guide me in the process since this was my first time ever placing a custom cake order.And all the pastries I got at both of their physical locations were fresh and delicious. I reached out to Deerfields bakery for my wedding cake this past June and I am SO GLAD I did! Deerfields bakery was great with... communication & quick to respond to all my emails. I went in for a tasting (which was amazing!) and we loved the buttercreamwith raspberry mousse and raspberry filling. We received SO many compliments on how delicious and beautiful the cake was, ourguests raved on and on, I was hearing about the cake for weeks following the wedding. This was the worst cake ever I ordered a vanilla with strawberry filling 2 layer the cake was very hard barely could cut it. The... strawberry filling was disgusting. No one ate one piece and these were 11 and 10 year olds. My son was crying saying it wasnasty and why didn?t I get the same cake his little cousin had which came fro jewel.
