I am marking this place off my list. First of all there were multiple chunks of the lettuce stalks in our salads, just like... last time. I don't mean the ribs of the romaine because I actually like those. I mean the actual base that I cut off and disposeof. Now to the main course. My husband got steak. He ordered it medium. It was the right color but when he cut it there was nojuice at all. I ordered the open face roast beef because it's basically the only thing I like at CJ's. I used to prefer the crabcakes but I made that mistake last time. The roast beef is no longer real roast beef. It is some kind of lunch meat that someonetried to flavor, and failed miserably I might add, like roast beef. I have been giving a lot of places, including this one, apass since Covid hit but I'm done. Two of the three things are from cheaper ingredients. We stayed in Buckhannon for the night and came here for dinner. The place was packed but we were seated right away. We both had... the Stuffed Pork Loin & Apples. Ruby had the Mac & Cheese and Fried Green Beans as sides, while I had the French Onion Soup andHouse Salad. Everything was good although the loin was on the dry side in spite of the apple glaze. Garrett did a good job asour server and Ruby liked the Margarita that he made. The city has a 1% tax on top of the WV 6%. Read more
Amazing place to eat, so many options, super friendly staff, lots of old decorations. Menu has something for everyone. The... town is fun with festivals every Friday during the summer months. They also do not skimp on the meats in the food, my shrimpmeal was packed full of shrimp. Read more
First time visitor and soon to be a Buckhannon resident. What an incredible menu. The chicken fajitas were outstanding and... French Onion Soup was wonderful. So many things on the menu, it might take months to taste everything. I can't wait. Read more
Really good food and fast, friendly service. I had a bowl of chili for a starter and was impressed. Often chili starters are an... afterthought but this was a really good bowl of chili that was obviously made from scratch. The main event for me was jumbolyaover "rustic rice." It was very good with good sized chunks of pork, ham, chicken and shrimp. It was spicy but not overboard.Even the side salad was exceptionally nice. Very fresh veggies and I suspect that the Thousand Islands dressing was made inhouse. My wife had a chicken pot pie with mashed potatoes and green beans. We like to try each other's dishes and the pot piewas excellent with large chunks of white meat and vegetables. The mashed potatoes were real and were very good as well as thegreen beans. I thought the prices were reasonable with most dinner entre's around $14.99-$16.99. There is a lot to pick from onthe menu. I can't wait to come back again and try something new. Ymmv Read more
Cool atmosphere, friendly waitstaff, large amounts of food. The food is tasty, and definitely filling. Good quality! There's a... bar at the front, and I really liked how the restaurant portion had dividing walls to separate booths (and tables) from eachother - it made it feel private and even intimate. Cute touch - red lines on the floor lead you to the women's bathroom, bluefor the men's. Read more
We were seated right away and our server was very nice and helpful, we had an issue with the bill and she quickly fixed it for... us. The food was really good, and the price was good for this tour of restaurant. In the picture of my salmon, I had ate almosthalf of the broccoli and some of my potato before I took the picture.
