"Sweet Relish" is a head scratcher of a choice for the new name of this established, local restaurant. Despite a change from... the appropriate allusion of the former name, "Must Be Heaven," to it's scrumptious delicacies, there's a through line of 2consistencies: 1. Closed on Sunday in observance of the Lord's Day, implied reassurance that the owners haven't lost theirreligion somewhere along the way... 2. Savory sandwich traditions with tasty twists and sinfully sweet homemade pies and bakedgoods, making "Sweetie Pies," a logicl, fitting choice over the less compelling "Sweet Relish." Alas, we don't eat the name onthe sign. It could say "Hell," and I'd still tell you all to go there. Yes, it's that good! Read more

We ate there today and everything was delicious. We had the tuna sandwich and the Ruben sandwich, absolutely yummy. We also had... the gumbo, baked potato salad, blackberry cobbler and (the best of all) the German chocolate pie. OMG!!!! We would definitelygo back again!! Read more

As I walked in to the open style restaurant, I noticed the menus on the back wall. I approach the register where the friendly... cashier greeted me and I ordered the grilled cheese sandwich. Which did come with a pickle sphere and chips. So I added a drink. Then after paying and getting my drink, I was made known that I could add ham to my sandwich for $1.50. So I proceeded and paid.My food was promptly ready and was tasty. As for the pecan pie I had for dessert, it tasted like an average pecan pie that onecan purchase at HEB. Overall was a great sandwich and although I will not be frequenting this place on the weekly I might visitonce a month or every two months. Read more

I went to this location on a Saturday morning around 10 am and it was completely dead. I ordered two meringue pies to go. The... cashier put the pieces of pie in the to-go containers as follows: took pie on plate - flipped pie over into container someringue is on bottom - closed container - then flipped back over. (The result, when opening the to-go container was deflatedmeringue on one side and pie on the other.) I stood there, watching the cashier, flabbergasted as to why anyone would think thatpie-moving mechanism was acceptable for a meringue pie? I should?ve requested different pie pieces or a refund right then butsometimes one is just so shocked at the poor quality of service/product in the moment that it is easier to just leave than beconfrontational. I was literally the only customer so there was no reason the cashier would not have had time to put on glovesand use a utensil to move the pie into the to-go container while keeping the pie upright and not compromising the pie quality. This was my first time at the Bryan/Villa Maria location and at any Must B Heaven location and I really don?t expect to returnto any of the locations because this experience was so off-putting. It's a really cute, quiet, calm place with tons of comfort food!! Soup and sandwiches and pie! The tuna sandwich is delicious,... the cheese and broccoli soup is my favorite. They offer healthy alternatives and have selections for big appetites. They alsohave peach and raspberry tea which I can't seem to find often in Texas! Read more
