Five of us with here for lunch today. The place is very charming, wonderful atmosphere but the food was lacking. Never had an... issue before. Four of us had the special of the day, meatloaf and scalloped potatoes. All 4 said the meatloaf was very day andno taste to the scalloped potatoes. Both were cold. This is such a cute, local family restaurant and shop with delicious food that you can smell BEFORE you even walk in the door. ... They have lots of choices on the menu with, at least, 3 different soups, 5 or 6 specials of the day, and 9 or 10 differentdesserts!! Bring your appetite! They had fast & friendly service as well. My favorite Lunch place. I have known the owner since I was a little girl. Her hospitality & what she has done with this place... is incredible!!! And so is the food! All homade Fresh & Delisous. I always get soup to take home. If you haven't tried it . Youshould. Its fine dinning in a cafe. Oh and they make cakes that are the Best in this Town! Read more

Folksy and quaint, this Brooksville gem really hit the spot. After being greeted warmly we were quickly seated, told the... specials and given time to peruse the menu. I opted for the Reuben with homemade mustard. The bread was fresh and the portiongenerous. Accompanied by a hearty and refreshing Kidney Bean Salad, it was the perfect lunch. **Update** Great experience at Mallie Kylas Cafe, we were greeted as soon as we got inside, we were taken to the dining area and... what a cozy, home looking sight, clean, beautiful, the staff was awesome, the food was on point, we had soups and had food anddessert to go, the corn chowder soup was amazing, has a little heat, great taste. I had the stuffed avocado with tuna salad andpasta salad and I got to say I'm hooked, such great flavor, smooth, clean, the tuna salad was truly on point, one of the bestI've ever had same goes for the pasta salad, such balanced flavors and all because it tastes homemade and fresh, also we got theCarolina Chicken Sandwich and it was delicious, it comes on raisin bread and believe me it sounds different but it works andfinally for dessert we had banana cream pie, they put actual slices of banana in the pie, the cream is delicious, smooth, silkyand creamy. Definitely we will come back when we are in the area, I can't wait to have more of that stuffed avocado. We wentthere again to dine in this time and I am happy to report that it is amazing service paired with amazing food that feels likecame straight from your grandma's kitchen. We had the ham and cheese quiche and the amazing stuffed avocado with tuna saladwhich in my opinion is one of the best dishes I've had. We also indulged with some of the desserts, the cookies were on point,rich but not crazy sweet, right on the money; the hummingbird cake is straight up the best I've had so far, made with bananacake with that awesome delicious filling and the apple crumble pie was to die for, warm and delicious, pairs well with icecream. I went in for a flower arrangement and was very pleased with what i found. This place is wonderful with plenty of gift or... decorative ideas for everyone's home.
