I just visited there and had some food. The food is awesome, sashimi is fresh and drink is excellent. But the thing that made me... feel bad is about the host who took me to the table. I asked for the restaurant side not the bar side even to sit at the grilledbar because i know sometimes they keep the table for big groups. He just refused me immediately, only that side i can sit ornot. So i think maybe it?s full or someone else reserved it. ( but during the time I spent right there no one sit till i wentback) the thing it?s not right is about he didn?t even ask for the id to check my age that i can enter to the bar or not.Luckily i just turn 21 last two weeks. I know both restaurant and bar is the same spot or share place but the vibes isdifferent. You gonna feel awkward when you have big meal at the bar and don?t order any drinks During the dining time no serverscome to take your order or check anything just only Bartender who took the orders and take care. only thing That the waiters didis come to serve the food. So I think service must be improved. I?d been here many time since the pandemic because of the foodbut the things that always bothered me is all about the services. Read more

While the service was excellent, attentive, and superb, the downfall is the food. The cocktails are pretty good, but expect the... $16 pre-tax, pre-tip price tag (something expected in Manhattan, not Brooklyn). Visit once to check it out if you are in thearea and need dine-in, table service; otherwise skip it. Read more

Absolutely amazing in every way! The service was wonderful and fast, the food was amazing, and so were the prices! I'm not a... rich man but for the first time I ordered 9 things off the menu (10 if you include a drink) and I wasn't concerned about thebill! Absolutely everything was delicious and I highly recommend the skewers! Because the price is so reasonable, I was willingto try stuff I've never had and had always been to scared to try before. I tried the beef tongue, pork belly, chicken heart andchicken liver skewers, and they were all so yummy! We also got the wagyu and shrimp skewers which were delicious. The gesokaraage and harumaki were also great, but my favorite of everything was easily the gyu maki, it was amazing! Side note: myboyfriend got one of their draft beers and I have always thought beer tasted super gross but this one was actually reallydelicious and I honestly should have ordered it for myself! I?m a huge fan of Japanese karaage so I was really happy to find this izakaya at Japan Village. The location was clean and tidy... as you?d expect from an authentic Japanese restaurant and the service was great and attentive. The karaage itself was delicious.I only wish I?d found this place earlier in my trip so I could eat there more than once. Read more

No idea why the reviews were so bad. The food was honestly not bad. The service could of been better but, we were blown away by... the delicious traditional Japanese food. Izakaya dishes in NYC are usually under $10 for one little dish, and you can try alittle bit of everything. We did make reservations before going, I believe they are only taking reservations, but dont worryit's not hard to reserve a spot. We went on a weekend and it didn't look too busy, maybe because they did a great job spacingout everyone and keeping everyone socially distanced. The highlight if our meal was the chicken cartilage. Definitely ask forthat if you go. The chef prepared it just for us. It was full of flavor and the cartilage was crunchy was was definitelydifferent from anything else we had. Its full of nutrition and collagen too!! The food took some time to come out but once itcame out, it just didn't stop. We ran out of table space. They had to pull another table out for us. The one thing I wouldn'tget again is the salmon ikura donburi bowl, the sashimi was warm against the rice and it was a lot of rice. We like to try alittle bit of everything and that one don buri bowl felt like a meal itself already. Other than that everything was honestlyamazing. We ended off our meal with some fun cotton candy too. Read more
