The place was fairly empty considering the time 4 pm afternoon which was great for us. My fiancé and I were traveling on the... road with our two week old infant and decided to stop in and ?support our own? it was dimmed lighting, food was prepared andlaid out well not to mention labeled too. As it being my first time I was astounded to find out two medium plates literallyfixed the same way we get from other caribbean restaurants in the Bronx actually ended up costing us double what we normallypay! Omg I?m still speechless! I honestly didn?t even enjoy the food because I felt robbed. The cashier lady was very pleasantand thus made the dining experience somewhat worthy! Unfortunately I feel robbed and would not be coming back, I had a mediumsize rice curry goat curry chicken and some Mac and cheese and my fiancé had rice and peas, cabbage, oxtail, and Mac and cheeseand both plates came up to $70.70! The food is great.... They lost 2 stars because of the cashier. He was so busy watching tv he messed up and had to do the order... over. To him forever to check us out bc he was still was watching tv lol!! Customer service is everything !! Read more

Was partially on the defense because of self-served food during covid but HAPPY I took my chances. The food is good, cheap and... lots of variety. The customer service may be lacking but hey it?s is self served. Happy I took my chance even with the bumsoutside the place and self serve(I can fill my plate). Read more
Be aware that this spot is cash only. It has an extensive buffet with a lot of delicious food. The food is fresh. No single item... on the buffet looked old or dried out. I had the sliced salmon, which had a few small bones, but was delicious. The macaroni andcheese is creamy and comforting. Everything was well seasoned. They charge by the pound, and enough for a meal with a bit leftover for my husband and me was about $25. It was well worth it. The food is high quality and impeccably seasoned. Read more
The food was ok I guess. I wouldn't say it was good but that's probably because I was so annoyed when I left. I don't have high... expectations when I go to Jamaican restaurants as being rude to customers seems to be a standard but this was a new low. Theplace was a mess! While serving two plates, I couldn't even place the container down because the counters were so nasty. Thesurface above the food was dusty and grimey and the counters were filthy with food and mysterious liquids. I asked the womenworking (and by working, I mean sitting in the dining area lounging) if she had something to wipe the counter down, sheresponded "yes" and then stared at me blankly for several seconds until I followed up with "could you use it to clean this up, Ihave nowhere to set this down while I serve my food" to which she responded reluctantly "yeah he will come" and pointed in thedirection of the kitchen and then LOOKED AWAY as if to tell me she's no answering any more of my questions. "He" never arrivedto clean it. In fact, I took the attached picture on my way out after serving my food, going back to my car (b/c I forgot my IDto use my credit card), returning, waiting on line (behind 2 customers), and paying for my food .. if you can imagine how longthat took and it still was not cleaned. Food was amazing!! As a ???????? I have to admit the brown rice and brown beans was PERFECT! oxtail had the perfect amount of... heat!
