The ambiance, music, the drinks, the food, all were so delish. Their specialty drink "Benevolence, Benevolence" was super... amazing. I highly recommend this restaurant. I wish it weren't so windy and cold during my visit. Otherwise, I would have dinedin their yard...such a unique setup. Read more

Seriously incredible service that is well-deserving of the automatic 20% gratuity applied to each bill! Their outdoor garden... area is lovely too. We tried the Oasis mocktails, Caribbean tatertots, fried sweet plantains with a side of garlic sauce, andmufongo (one vegan and one with duck.) flavors were great, food came out quickly too! There are definitely a few vegan andvegetarian options on the menu I?d like to try next time. Read more

I really wanted to love this place. But, I didn't. :( The jerk chicken had smokey flavor, but wasn't done in my opinion. The... rice was on the dry side. I wasn't a fan of their tostones. My friend did not enjoy her crab-fried rice. :( Read more

Was a random walk-in into Sally Roots around 8 pm on Wednesday, and the place looked very inviting with comfortable indoor and... outdoor seating. We decided to sit outdoors and the setup was good. We scanned their online menu and ordered beers - I got theDos Equis priced at $7. My beer was quite flat unfortunately, but I did not bother flagging the staff about the same. We orderedCurried Chicken ($18) and Curried Vegetables ($17) as our mains, and while priced on a slightly higher side, the food was prettygood. Rice portion was a little light, and my curried veggies were slightly on the sweeter side. They contained medium chunksof carrot, potato, and celery, seasoned with Caribbean yellow curry sauce. It was not spicy and I wish they served it with somenice spicy scotch bonnet sauce. I also ordered a Pacifico ($6) which was slightly better than the Dos Equis. Service was good, food arrived within 20 minutes of placing our orders, and noise level was moderate - easy to have conversations. Overall - agood experience. Read more

This really is one of the best places in the neighborhood. I have been coming here for years and have never been disappointed.... The service is always on point! The food is always piping hot and flavorful. Sometimes it?s hard to find a good spot to bringthe kids that is equally amazing for a bar scene kinda vibe too. The outside seating area is cute too! Sally Roots service was great, and willing to help make the experience here awesome. For example, I did not like my first... selection of the menu. I spoke with my waitress about it, she asked if I would like something else. Which I did, and my secondselection off the menu was a lot better. My wife's meal, was lacking in the flavor department. To our surprise, the chef came toour table and asked if she liked her meal. My wife proceeded to tell the chef, that it was lacking in flavor. The chef asked mywife, if he could remake her meal. She said yes, and when the meal came back it was rather delicious. All in all, this is a coolspot to enjoy some food with some good company. Read more
