Fantastic experience from the food, to the decor, service and ambiance. Highly recommend for an intimate meal that will be... memorable! The dishes were prepared with quality ingredients and complex flavours for simple recipes. Nothing felt too heavy orrich, just the perfect balance. The only thing that wasn't finished was the white sesame ice cream which was a bit toosweet. Interior seating is beautiful, but overshadowed by the beautiful exterior. Outside seating does have heating lamps tokeep you warm. The music is played softly so it doesn't drown out conversation. Read more

I just had the perfect rainy Sunday brunch at Rule of Thirds. Food and service were great but it was the ambience here that made... it amazing. As soon as I walked into the oversized wooden front doors, it was as if I was transported to Kyoto. The restaurantwas super spacious with beautiful aesthetics. From the private traditional partitioned rooms in the front to the high ceilingedindoor space to the green outdoor garden, I felt completely in awe and instantly relaxed. Even though the place was busy, myfriends and I had a great time catching up with each other without having to scream over one another nor compete with the loudmusic like most brunch places in Manhattan. We were seated in the outdoor garden and even in the rain, it was very peaceful andquite lovely. The food here was solid. Everything we ordered was tasty - the souffle pancake, chicken sandwich, karaage, bluefish breakfast set and tuna tartar. I am very glad I tried this restaurant. It was worth the trip to Brooklyn and Idefinitely would visit again. I recommend it without hesitation. Read more

The entrance is located on a street with warehouses and garages. You'll miss it if you're not standing in front of it. The... restaurant opens up once you venture in with various outdoor minimalist seating decor (for groups). Once inside the main area, the bar and spacious seating arrangements provide a comfortable place to mingle with your friends. Service is attentive (seatedat the bar). Food imo was great (the Morning breakfast with the fish), well portioned although it may be small for others.Overall a place to return again and try their dinner menu. Read more

The ambiance, the service and the food are all top notch here. My Wife invited me for my birthday and she couldn’t have chosen... a better place. Everything, from small bites, cocktails, main courses and desserts are just delicious. Place is spacious, yetintimate but also lively and inviting. Our server, Alejandra was simply amazing, from the moment we sat down to the moment itwas time to pay the check. In my opinion, the only place in NY that can rival the “Rule of Thirds” level of service is theGramercy Tavern. Prices are very fair for the quality of food. Will definitely want to come back, soon. Very soon. Read more

This was sooooo good. The fried chicken was some of the best I’ve ever had and the hot honey salad was delicious. We got the... surf club to drink which was also so good. For $7 the cold brew was straight up bad. And of course, we had to get the pancake. It was really good but definitely a little too sweet. Something I would get once and feel satisfied to have had it. The vibe inhere are amazing and the staff is really nice and trendy. Very cool addition to the neighborhood! Read more

3.5 *** // Went for a brunch with a friend that was vegan and gf. Her options were very limited because of that. For myself - I... had the fried chicken sandwich which was good, but could have packed more of a punch. I would return for the pancakes - whichneed at least 2 or 3 to share. The real highlight is the open air space. It’s a beautiful inside outside experience, great forbig groups or small parties with their special tent spaces as well. But I found the food to be average and not living up to thehype. Read more

Hip izakaya fusion concept sponsored by team behind Sundays in BK. The highlight is the crafty cocktails and the extensive sake... menu. The flavors are not authentically Japanese, and the food is on the salty and heavier side. The black sesame soft serve hasgood flavors but unfortunately way too sweet. Overall, good ambiance and service (plus cool courtyard dining when weather isnice) but lacking in food quality considering the price. Read more

Hosted a large brunch here for 10 people and we were able to reserve one of the summer pavilions. Luckily the weather wasn’t... too cold because the little “huts” didn’t have any insulation, but they were still very comfortable to dine in :) the prefixe menu was good and family style worked really well for my party. I only wish that they were able to accommodate some of thedietary restrictions (food allergies) especially since they were noted in the reservation beforehand. Overall, the waitress wehad was great and the food was tasty and the ambiance was sublime. Would love to come back here someday and check out theregular brunch or dinner menu. Read more
