For comfort food seekers, this is a place to check out! Great chili chicken (very spicy but the mixed spices was outstanding -... something you can?t eat other places), salted egg chicken was great too (crispy skin and juicy inside). As for sides, Brusselssprouts were a bit too greasy; mashed potatoes was creamy yet heavy; cornbread got nice balance between sweetness and savorycheese. Both food and service are excellent here! Let me start by saying, I've been thinking about the mash potatoes and gravy since I left Pecking House. We went at about 6 on a... Thursday and was able to order and snag a table pretty easily. We got 2x 2 piece chilli chicken. One with mashed potatoes andgravy, and one with the dirty fried rice as the sides. It's fast service and HOT chicken. Usually, when chicken spots do spice,it's salty and overwhelming. This place nails the balance. The meat is juicy, the chicken is CRISPY and the spice is moreflavour than pain. If you take a second to look around while you're eating, I promise you people are literally licking theirfingers. The mashed potatoes with duck heart gravy were to die for and my favourite of it all. The dirty fried rice wasdifferent, can't say it stood out but it was still great. Everything is served in paper plates or plastic containers. Their chili fried chicken was really good? very crispy skin with tender and juicy meat! I don?t know how they did it. Even the... breast was juicy. The sauce was a bit too spicy for me but I couldn?t stop! ???? I had gravy as my side. It toned down thespiciness from the chicken but overall was ok. Only thing that annoyed me was lining up outside the restaurant just to ordertake-out. Read more
There must be sourcery involved because the crust on the fried chicken is GLORIOUS! I got the Chili version which has Sichuan... peppercorns. It's just spicy enough that you have that tingling on your lips but not so much you need to slow down or drinksomething. The skin is perfect. Also I don't have that greasy, heavy feeling after. Amazing!!!! Literally, I wish I good rate this place 6 stars. The food and service were amazing and I truly believe the... restaurant pop up concept is pretty cool because .... I ordered the two piece chicken with mashed potatoes, butterbean salad,green ranch dressing with an IPA. Everything was so good! The fried chicken looks crispy but it's actually tender, I have noidea what they season the chicken with it has a simple, unique but great taste, they definitely have some sort or secretseasoning lol. The mashed potatoes were served with a savory duck gravy that was bomb; the butter bean salad was seasoned withmushrooms and sesame oil. I'm so happy I had the opportunity to drop by before the pop up ends and my friend and I are reallyhappy with the food and service. Read more
No joke. Stop what you doing and go get your fried chicken fix right here. They hit the basics perfectly. Crispy chicken, juicy... throughout and just enough spice to keep you engaged. I really respect that they set their own twist to fried chicken and theykilled it. This one of those spots ima have to take visiting friends! Read more
This is an excellent fusion of southern fried chicken and Chinese seasoning. The taste is unforgettable. The $35 meal is... shareable for two, imo. The chicken wings are standard, not much to brag about there. Nonetheless, definitely worth the try. Read more
Had been reading a bit about this place and was eager to try out their take on fried chicken. Ordered a spicy two piece with the... duck heart gravy mash and cornbread along with the fried chicken burger add foie. The chicken was crispy and juicy and the spicewas fine, I'd consider it a good fried chicken but nothing mind blowing, however, both the sides were impeccable. UnfortunatelyI finished on the burger which left me wanting, the cold slab of foie taking away anything the burger could have offered. Read more
