This is an intimate, all vegetarian/vegan Middle Eastern restaurant serving affordable, flavorful, and delicious food in a... quiet, industrial area of Brooklyn's East Williamsburg. There's limited interior seating space and some outdoor seating, butwhen we went on a weeknight for dinner, it was pretty empty. The inside had interesting vibes-- dim lighting, indie decor, andfolk/indie/rock instrumental music playing in the background. You seat yourself and order at the front counter. The night menuis less expansive than the day menu (which ends at 4pm), but it still offered a diverse and delicious selection. I tried thefollowing items: - Pan-fried Halloumi Sandwich: A really flavorful, tasty, and filling sandwich! The bread was so perfectlytoasted-- crispy, yet fluffy. The filling had a great mixture of textures: soft roasted eggplant paired with a firmer pan-friedhalloumi cheese block. - Masabacha Hummus with 2 pita pockets: All the ingredients in this dish-- tahini, chickpeas, spices, and s'hug-- provided such a delicious combination of textures and flavors when mixed together: earthy flavors combined withcreamy and gritty textures. The pita pockets were also warm and soft. Super filling and tasty! My friends ordered the SeitanChorizo and Vegan Majadra Plate. Both really enjoyed them! The seitan was very flavorful and delicious and the lentil/rice inthe Majadra plate had a great flavor and spice profile. The price was also good, especially for how filling and satiating thefood is: sandwiches were between $10-14, plates are ~$14, and hummus is ~$12. I'd love to come back sometime to try their othersandwiches and plates! Read more

I was underwhelmed. Sabich had celery in it (not disclosed on menu). Food served in wasteful to-go containers with plastic... cutlery. It was just ok for Israeli food. Read more

Newtown is one of my favorite places to eat in the city, hands down. I lived nearby for years, and every single time I?ve... ordered from here I?m in heaven. I live on the opposite side of Brooklyn now and I still make a point to come at least once amonth. The pita is soft and filled with these little bubble pockets that sop up all the amazing hummus and flavors they pack in- the couscous stew has warmed my soul on the coldest days, and even just the simple pickles that accompany everything havetheir own unique flavor and tang. I love this place. So. Much. Read more

Fantastic Mediterranean. Mushroom Hummus with a boiled egg was incredibly good. A+ quality Pita bread. Great vibes, excellent... low-key date spot. Half vegan half vegetarian options. Read more

Such a cute place! Food is fresh and taste great. The pita is incredible, the falafel is baked and I did miss the crispy... exterior that I?m used to. Nice quality tea selection as well. Be mindful service can be slow, maybe not the best for a lunchbreak. Otherwise, I can totally recommend! Read more

It's a nice little quaint place. With nice wooden Family style seating, and a laid back out door option. I ordered the hummus... and falafel of course, with a side of olives and pickles. Im Egyptian, Turkish and moroccon. And the hummus is definitely one ofthe best I have ever had. Its light yet has some body to it and super velvety. The falafel is A safe Haven mostly being asthey're baked, while usually they're fried. But they do have their own flare on them, which makes them uniquely great. I highlyrecommend checking this little gem out if you're ever in East Brunswick. It's ???? ???? ????.!!!! Read more

It?s difficult to find a vegetarian restaurant in NYC. So this jewel I discovered today was really heartfelt. Fernando is the... chef and he made me a awesome sandwich this morning. And the coffee was pretty decent also. I?ll eat at Newtown whenever I?mpassing through the area. Read more
