We came to Mera for the first time to celebrate my husbands Birthday. We had big group of people and were pleasantly surprised... how welcoming and accommodating the staff were. We ordered appetizers in advance, and everything came out hot and fresh exactlyat the time we requested. We ordered a lot of different appetizers to try as many different plates as possible. Mushroomcroquettes were our favorite. They were super tasty and cheesy and I would highly recommend! Truffle Flat Bread was surprisinglya hit! The dough was super crispy and delicious. Cigar rolls and Calamari were very good. After everybody ordered their maincourse, we had a relaxing time to check out the Bar and try the different craft cocktails. Rosemary Lamb Chops could usesalt. Lemon Roasted Chicken looked amazing and was very tasty. Chicken Kebab was good. We got a huge surprise, when our serverand super attentive Manager made a little show for the Birthday boy with bubbles and a gift. It was a very personalized andamazing experience. I would say that the place is a bit pricey. The food is halal, except bar. The lentil soup traditionally comes with a lemon on... the side. Though no lemon, but the taste is good. Mera chicken wings are super spicy, taste is ok. Kale & quinoa salad is great,recommended. First I ordered cranberry juice, I was half-way done with my lentil soup and the juice never arrived. I canceled itand ordered Turkish coffee with baklava. Baklava never arrived. The waitress is very friendly and nice, though the service isextremely slow. I asked to get pita to go 2 times and still left without it, because I could not wait another hour. Also it’squite surprising that there is no Turkish tea in a Turkish restaurant. A NEIGHBORHOOD GEM ! The place is beautiful, great atmosphere, ambiance, service, spacious, and hands down one of the best... restaurants in the neighborhood. Every dish we ordered was amazing. Food was made to perfection. From the kebab plate ( halfchicken/lamb) good enough for 2 to share, to the fries, Mera wings, falafel plate ( MY FAV, don’t leave without ordering this). Not a single complaint. At night it’s more of a lounge, there’s a bar, & they offer hookah. On some nights, they have alive drummer which makes the party more livelier. I recommend this place if you’re looking for a good restaurant or a funnight out. This is the place to be. Read more
I had my babyshower at Mera, and my guests were extremely happy with the food, drinks, and service. The owners were so attentive... to my needs and my annoying requests. They even created a special welcoming drink for my event. Everything was coordinated downto the last detail. Let's talk food...absolutely delicious, especially the mushroom croquets a definite must. My guests lovedthe food. In terms of decorations, you don't really need much; you just don't want to ruin that mix of modern with rustic...seeattached pictures I would def recommend Mera for future events. Great place to go for happy hour. Only tried some appetizers but they were great. And sangria was on point. Hookah was a plus. A... bit pricey but worth it with a group. Just keep in mind there is a 20% automatic gratuity. Other than that I'll be back. Read more
09/19/2021 - Mera - Turkish Restaurant Mezze Trio - very flavorful but lack a pinch of salt. Mera Wings - very well cooked... chicken wings with no after taste or funky smell. Could use bit of sauce for extra flavor. Chef Burger - Extremely wellcrafted burger cooked medium-well with perfectly seasoned fries. Chicken Kebab Plate - This one was tricky as the SheppardSalad and French fries were awesome. Chicken was cooked to a point where you can use it to hit someone and cause injury. HalfRoasted Lemon Chicken - Perfectly Roasted and marinated chicken with nice crispy skin. I strongly feel it lacked some kind ofreduction sauce to complement the well crafted dish. Seafood Pasta - This was truly amazing and highlight for us. Perfectlycooked and seasoned to perfection. The chef here definitely know how to handle the seafood. Napoloen - let's just say I haveextremely good Napoloen at other places. Overall this was a good experience. We inquired couple of times about the Halal Foodas they have full bar. 100% halal food! The setup of the restaurant is very clean and rustic. They do have a bar and hookah which is a perfect addition... to the intimate ambiance. The servers and bartender are absolutely the sweetest, however the service was a bit slow for the coalchanges and water refills. The hookah is smooth but a bit too pricey. The food is delicious!!! From the chicken/lamb kebab,spicy lamb burger, Shepard salad, truffle fries, chicken pesto pizza, Mediterranean poppers & a special chef’s pasta uponrequest were really good. The Mera wings were a bit on the dry side. The seven layer cake needs to be a bit more moist. TheTurkish tea was on point. The vibe and music are delightful so I def recommend a visit here! Amazing place with amazing food and very caring staff. I had my private party at Mera and they did not disappoint. They went... above and beyond with the planning and making sure everything came together great! So grateful for the friendly staff and alltheir hard work.
