Reviews for LaLou in Brooklyn, NY
We love LaLou. Friendly service who remembers our favorite items. Food that’s delicious and a wonderful accompaniment to their... lovely wine list. Small touches show they care that you’re there. Read more
Nice wine selection and service. But food portions are comically small. Go for wine, not for dinner. $28 gnocchi came with 9... individual pieces of gnocchi and 3 small pieces of winter squash. The cheese pieces on the cheese plate were equally tiny. Leftafter having spent $40 on food alone and still hungry. Read more
My new favorite wine bar in Brooklyn. LaLou is just a good vibe. The wine selection is phenomenal. On this visit to LaLou I... tried Orange wine and the cheese plate. Wine cheese and a view. What more could I ask for? Read more
We are new the the neighborhood and read that this is one of the best places in Brooklyn to eat. We only came by to get some... wine with olives---excellent! Absolutely fantastic. We used to live in France and the wine list if exciting, high quality andthe servers are knowledgable. Fantastic! Read more
I wish I can leave no stars. But have to admit, Service was great! Food was a joke. We took popular dishes, like Toulouse... sausage and roasted chicken… everything was tasteless, we had to at least salt it to eat it. Salad tasted bitter… the onlytasty thing was a bread with olive oil… that is what I stuffed my self with! The rest prepared bad and served on the platebad, as of chef hates his job. Won’t be back, felt robbed after leaving over $250 for 4 people for this. Read more
Really enjoyed the atmosphere and I’m sure the wine is delicious (I didn’t partake) but food composition was overly simple... and lacking in nuance for the price. A potato dish was simply boiled potatoes, yogurt and greens, like something one couldeasily assemble at home. Same with the fish entree, well cooked, but in a simple broth with greens. Again, felt like a wellexecuted simple home cooked meal. Read more
The menu is simple, focused and extremely delicious. Paired with their eclectic wine menu from Eastern Europe and beyond, making... it an excellent neighborhood spot or worthy restaurant destination. Ambiance and hospitality also always wonderful. Read more
LaLou is a cute little restaurant in Crown Heights, with a nice ambiance and cute bar area. They are focused on natural wines... and small dishes for accompanying them. I did get a glass of wine, but I was, as usual, more interested in the food, which wasthe bast part of the experience. The standout were the olives, that came seasoned with some interesting spices and the curedmackerel, with an abundance of flavor in the sauces and the fish was just melting in the mouth. An overall nice experience, hopefully I will return someday! Read more
