La Loncheria is a great little casual spot in Bushwick serving their take on Mexican food. It?s not traditional but it?s super... tasty. We sampled a variety of dishes during happy hour. We started with the ceviche tostada which was honestly the star of theshow! It was so delicious and citrusy and went amazingly on the crispy tostada, it?s a must try! We also got the Sopa de Tarascawhich was good but nothing too special. Next we got a half portion of a Torta which was really amazing, it had an amazing layerof beef paired with fresh cabbage and cilantro, a black bean spread and crispy cheese on perfectly toasted bread. The halfportion is actually huge! We also tried the lamb barbacoa tacos, the tuna tacos, and the carne Asada tacos. Everything was wellcooked but I think each one could?ve benefitted from a bit more fat and flavor. We also got a margarita. And for all of that itwas only $59 before tip! Would leave zero star if I could. I have worked 5+ years in the service industry including restaurant management and I've never... had such a bad time anywhere. The server/bartender forgot our drinks said "he ran them to another table". When I asked aboutthem he did not offer to make them right away. The rice was old and crunchy. All the food was cold, my boyfriend and I saw thefood waiting out while the server/bartender was refilling a water pitcher and not addressing the issue. I really LOVED this pace. Great margaritas, nice space, amaaaazing tacos. For some reason the food has done a 180 and the... guacamole is the only thing that still tastes good. The tuna taco was fully cooked (not how it?s supposed to be served) and themeat tasted really gamey or old.
