Horrible service. Came in today to watch a game, was shuffled upstairs after we were assured we could watch the game we... requested up there. A white couple came in after us, and after they very loudly exclaimed that the restaurant smelled like a dog(and to be fair it did not smell good in there) the waitress proceeded to change the channel from what we were already watchingand said they wanted to see something else and she preferred to accommodate them. Very sad to see an establishment with Blackstaff so unabashedly prioritize white customers at the expense of a group of Black neighborhood residents who were there longbefore. If you are sad about what BedStuy is becoming - look no further than places like IV Purpose. The table was also verydirty and the menu was quite limited and left much to ne desired. Highly suggest visiting another bar in the area that stillwelcomes actual residents of the neighborhood. Read more
This is a dope spot with great people, good vibes, and awesome bartenders! One in particular named Blu was very helpful about... where to visit around Brooklyn since I was just there for the weekend. Plus, they kept really good drinks flowing ???? Wouldvisit again when I'm in Brooklyn Read more
Loved the sweet potato fries dessert, the tamarind chipotle wings, and the sorrel alcoholic drink! A great time to go is during... happy hour! $8 wings can't be beat! Read more
From stepping into this restaurant, staff immediately greeted me. The bartender was phenomenal. She was honest about what was... and wasn't available and made sure to check and communicate with myself and other patrons about wait times for orders. She wasvery polite with colleagues as well. We came to Purpose after sitting in King of The Sea for 90 minutes without being served. Once we entered Purpose we were greeted... with a smile and seated immediately. We had 2 servers waiting on us the whole time. The food was amazing and the customerservice exceeded my expectations. The music was good and the karaoke was poppin!!! My partner and I love the food here. Prior to dining in, we would order Uber eats from them often. However, when we finally... decided to visit in person for the first time it was a disappointment. We waited over 30 mns for our food (nachos ????) toarrive which was surprising since it's small restaurant. Purpose is a neighbor gem. Everytinenibpassed by on Fulton st, the outdoor dining area is always full of people. The only time... it is empty is when it's very cold and windy and still might have a couple of stragglers having their signature frozen drinks.We had the private room upstairs still social distancing between people and tables. You would never realize how good their foodis. Had the wings, rice, rasta pasta, grilled vegetables, salmon, stewed chicken, and mashed potatoes. I am not sure I got itall, but this is what I remembered. Nancy runs a tight shift and she is there to make sure the customers are happy. She hasquite a few servers for the amount of people that come to have drinks especially. The bartenders rotate around to handle anyinflux of customers. I do have to specifically specify a few people that helped facilitate our great time here. I have to shoutout to Daniel 1st because he was all over the place taking care of everyone' s needs. When we 1st arrived, Nicole was all overus wanting to know if we were ok, and even ordered us water to start. We ordered drinks and she quickly took care of our order.Later after our dinner, a few of us went to the bar for a final drink, both Samantha and Nicole were there and they both tooksuch good care of us making sure we were ok. When you go to a place where you feel at home and comfortable, this is a place youneed to return to often. Like I said, this place is a gem in this neighborhood, but you have to try the variety of food theyserve and Michael in the kitchen is constantly trying to improve on the menu to attract and keep customers and he is doing agreat job!! We hosted our 2022 Team Social and Player Recognition Night there and we had a blast! The manager Abbi was on point from start... to finish and our host/bartender Ashley was great. Our guys had a great time along with family and friends. We will be hostingadditional events there very soon! Read more
