My fiancé and I live in Carroll Gardens and frequent the Red Hook Pier. We?ve walked by Hoek a handful of times but never... actually dined there until last night. After an exhausting day in the heat running errands in the city, we decided to finallyhave dinner at Hoek. I intended it to be a quick pizza dinner but we ended up staying longer than expected. The entire staff wasliterally so friendly and genuine. They made us feel so welcome and really went out of their way to make sure we were taken careof. I did not catch her name, but the girl with pink eyebrows was exuberant and her energy was vivacious and contagious. I hopeshe will be working next time I come for dinner! Will definitely come back sometime. Worth the trip from Manhattan. We ordered the pizza bread with cheese special (it was this... liquid white cheese that melted in your mouth). The pizzas looked great and I loved the meatball hoagie I got - I was expected ahero but it was a giant sandwich and each half had 3-4 meatballs!
