Reviews for Hibino in Brooklyn, NY
Wonderful restaurant. After living in Japan, I come here when I get longing for authentic Japanese cuisine. Nostalgic but... contemporary comfort food. Never disappoints. Read more
Cute and quaint sushi restaurant in Cobble Hill. Pretty extensive menu. Had the spicy scallop and tuna rolls and the seared tuna... tataki salad was delicious (tuna was perfectly pan seared). The recommended sake was also very good. Inexpensive and very decentportions for the price. Read more

Everything was awesome. One of my favorites from the menu was the shira-ae. Basically blanched green veggies with a bit of salt... and a tofu sauce. The tofu sauce was delicious, and different than any tofu I had ever experience. This dish was very mild andnuanced, and you could really just sink into the flavors. The agedashi tofu was also excellent. “Hibino” as I understand, means “daily.” As in the ingredients are prepared daily, and I will attest that everything tasted fresh. The sushi is alsoexcellent, the yellowtail jalapeño was among my favorites. I imagine this is what a great restaurant in Kyoto tastes like. Ourserver was great too. She explained the dishes, to us and made some great recommendations. I look forward to going back there. Read more
Incredible sushi, incredible atmosphere. We ordered a tuna special roll, salmon avocado roll, and a spicy tuna with added fish... roe. 10/10. The perfect amount for the two of us. Read more
Such a lovely spot in Greenpoint ! Situated in really scenic area. The restaurant is small in size, but really clean and has... great ambience. Food was so amazing. I love that Japanese cuisine has proportions that are just right. Each dish was sodeliciously prepared. They seem to change out their obanzai ???? daily(since it is based on the tradition of using ingredients, mainly veg or seafood, that usually may end up being discarded). Our obanzai we chose were the Beef tendon curry (SO soft andtender, full of umami flavors) and Japanese Potato salad. My friend and I also had some sushi and the tonkatsu entree. So yummy! My fav was probably the obanzai curry ???? Service was amazing, efficient and fast, and all servers were super nice. Read more
Friday night, celebrating my sisters birthday—Hibino was perfect. They only have limited seating, but when I explained I have... two toddlers they were more than accommodating. The fish melted in my mouth and the rice did too. The special small dishes areworth ordering and the sake is a must, especially because it’s moderately priced. They even refrigerated the cake for us andlit the candles—all without a service charge. Read more
