UPDATE: We finally made it to Fort Defiance in their new location for brunch today and it was very good. I had the huevos... rancheros which was excellent. I'm hoping they sell the pork chili that is in it on its own because it was delicious. BF had theAmerican breakfast with a nice slab of potato roesti disguised as hash browns. He said it was very satisfying. We had a wanderin the general store that is at the front of the restaurant. What a great little shop for delicious goodies and hostesspresents. Got a beautiful looking bottle of olive oil and a tangerine shrub that's made by Andy Ricker of Pok Pok, a fancylooking tin of smoked trout pate and an apple thyme hand pie. ???? MY PREVIOUS REVIEW: As I sunk my teeth into the burgeryesterday, I really wanted to cry cuz it was so freaking good. I was really tired and hungry when I went to the restaurant and Ineed it good comforting food and Fort Defiance delivered. I had a really delicious smoked trout salad which had lots of layersof flavor with beets and fennel. So good. My boyfriend had the lentil soup which had little pine nuts floating in it and a nicebut not overpowering notes of coriander. He had the Farro Salad as well which was also delicious. This is got to be one of thebest spots in the neighborhood. I must go there more often. Read more

I have given this place so many chances and it’s always a mediocre let down. Since reopening everything has gone downhill. The... ice cream machine is never on, the cafe/general staff is rude, their only alternative milk is oat, and the restaurant itself hasone of THE WORST MENUS/food I’ve ever had, and the layout/vibe is dark, cramped, unpleasant and awkward. It also smells weird. Read more

Cool bar with great eats in Red Hook. We sampled a good portion of the menu and everything was really good. Highlights included... the anchovy toast, deviled eggs, Caesar salad, chicken liver toast and skirt steak. The skirt steak was so good that we ordereda second order immediately after finishing the first. Pleasant, informed service. Fun place for casual drinks and bistro food. Read more

Good food, limited veggie options. Loved their elote and fried chickpeas! Steak frites was also done well.

Such an upgrade from the pre-pandemic times. We were fortunate enough to have Claire as our server and she was friendly,... attentive, funny and just an absolute pleasure. She has a second sense and can anticipate whatever your evening is calling for. Her teammate Kate was also SUPER on top of things and made sure we wanted for nothing. Truly the white glove service you’dexpect from Michelin stars. Also- HUGE compliments to the chef. The deviled eggs were elaborate and perfect; and we areobsessed with the latest tapas addition of Gildas. This delectable small plate is truly a dish for the gods. Bravo to ChefAllie. You have some new regulars. Read more

Really cool spot. The entrance is off of Wolcott before you hit the corner, but there's no signage at the cocktail bar entrance.... Clair was an awesome server and gave us great suggestions. The Gunga Din and Lemonade were perfect for the boiling hotafternoon, but the roasted chickpeas are worth a trip by themselves Read more

A wonderful place to go for a good cup of coffee with a friend or partner. I had the best cookie in my life today. Chocolate,... with salt sprinkled on top. Young people and family spend time here and it offers appropriate outside dinning. Yum. Read more
