Went with a friend who wanted to try. I was looking forward to it. The pesto tasted like something you'd make it home and was... just plopped on the plate. The shrimp in NY friends pasta dish were on the smaller side and tasted like the frozen shrimp soldin local supermarkets. It felt like a quick cheap, quick weeknight meal someone threw together. Highpoints: They did offer $5wine with lunch. We shared an eggplant Parmesan side dish which was actually really good! The thick red sauce was good fordipping bread. Fantastic pasta and the best part is the value for the quality you get. The parmigiana eggplant was also perfect in texture and... flavors. I would really recommend anything with red sauce because it is savory and has great texture. However, the pasta wasperfectly cooked and shaped so I guess everything is great and worth trying another time. The lunch deal has a yummy salad!Recommended. Honestly we were quite surprised at how good this was. It was really great value as well?not too pricey at all. Great flavors.... Love the abbreviated menu as well so I can?t get overwhelmed with options. The best was by far the bolognese, but we enjoyed theartichoke tuna salad as well. Read more
One of the best pasta I?ve ever had. Specially the Saturday special with Braised beef shoulder was just amazing. All the flavors... were balanced perfectly. The service is also really good and they have an open kitchen! The only complain I have would be withthe dessert. I would have liked it if it was served rather than me picking up from the cooler. This place holds a special space in my heart. I worked at a school nearby and would frequent this restaurant for lunch. I now... travel to Green point just for their delicious food when I want to treat myself. I feel like family every time I walk in, eachemployee, especially the lovely cooks welcome you with a warm greeting and great hospitality. Small yet meaningful interactionsare rare to find in NYC so I appreciate the Gem that is Forma Pasta. Read more
