I've been going here for years. Nice place. No drama. Sometimes I go by myself and end up meeting nice people. The food is... delicious. The drinks are good. Black own establishment. The owner is very nice. They do have happy hour, but it ends at 5pm.Also, if you are apart of the Essence club everytime you spend money you get points added to your name. Once you reach a certainamount of points you can ask to use your points for a reduced bill. Read more
Local bar. Serving bar fare wings, fries, and such. Mixed drinks range from 12 to about 17 dollars. I went on a Friday night... the atmosphere was pretty dry. The few people there was watching a sports game on TV. So there was not much socializing.Sometimes Essence can be a lively meeting place just wasn't happening that night. Read more
This was absolutely and ridiculously over priced and nasty. Greasy and tough chicken. They wanted $4 for BBQ sauce. Total... highway robbery. This meal was $19 and I want my money back. This was regrettable. Read more

First, this venue is much bigger than I expected and there is a lot of seating! I attended an event here and was impressed with... the food and drink options that were reasonably priced, and the backyard area is really nice. ordered a fried chicken sandwich instead I got a hard piece of chicken with American cheese and lettuce drenched in bleu cheese.... Ended up throwing the whole thing away. Hot bleu cheese is a smell no one should come across. Read more
Came here for a drink and seafood, and they delivert!!! My waiter was a male, and he was super accommodating, especially for a... busy Friday evening. My only gripe was that my food came out not so hot. It taste freshly made, I think it sat waiting too long,to be picked up. Meal: seafood combo. Went here yesterday for Happy Hour and was so disappointed in the prices for the Happy Hour Drinks and not much of a selection.... Long Island ice Tea $13 on regular night and $9 during Happy hour. No option for frozen drink. Essence gotta step it up. Read more
