Observed cook outside restaurant on his phone, TOUCHING HIS SHOES. Watched him come inside to prepare my meal. WITHOUT WASHING... HIS HANDS and or PUTTING ON GLOVES, he proceeded to start making my salad. When I mentioned it, he threw the lettuce back inthe bin and the cashier said he would wash his hands. He made no gesture to throwaway the contaminated lettuce. I asked for mymoney back. I will never eat there again. I am a retired general manager of one of the most iconic restaurants in Brooklyn anda NY restaurant manager for over 30 years. What I observed was a MAJOR HEALTH DEPT. VIOLATION. Great place to grab some Turkish food! Clean establishment. Ordered the lamb & chicken gyro on pita. Place has a nice outdoor... seating area with flowers & umbrellas. It?s also very reasonably priced. My only hope is that there no dairy in the lamb orchicken gyro. Fingers crossed. Delicious! Definitely recommend their cold eggplant appetizers and chicken skewers (juicy and flavorful). Somehow, the rice is... also a highlight. 100% halal and beyond delicious! I?ve known the owner Cagdas for about 6+ years from his previous venture and his customer... service just keeps on getting better. From the setup of the restaurant, to the food served and to the staff everything wasimpeccable. It was very covid friendly which I appreciated. The cleanliness of the restaurant was a customer?s dream come true.I recommend you to try the mixed grill, haydari, feta roll, hummus, lamb chops, chicken wings, bakhlava, milk pudding,cheesecake, tiramisu and the Turkish tea.
