The food is very good. More expensive than most Chinese places, but good food. I hate to say this, but the waiter was so rude... that I will not go back there. My friend needed slightly extra time to read the menu to decide what he was ordering. We orderedsoups while he was deciding. Though it was a very cold night, and the place was not busy at all, the waiter was annoyed about myfriend needing time to decide. The last thing I need when I entertain friends is to be embarrassed because of pressure from thewaiter to order at HIS convenience. The food is good though Read more

My wife loves the eggplant with garlic and meat, which she has not seen on a menu anywhere else. Egg rolls were great. Dumplings... too. We ordered take out and containers kept food hot, even 45 minutes later. Read more

I have infrequently visited this place for over 40 years. Was always a fantastic meal. However the last year or so either the... chef has changed or the recipes have. All the staples, General Tso, Chicken and broccoli, sweet and sour chicken, the egg rollsall have a different flavor and not for the better. Not terrible but not great either and for a very pretty penny. Read more

Whenever I'm on Brooklyn, I try to visit at this chinese restaurant. Great classic dishes, very well prepared and in abundance.... They are the last of the classy sit down and be served Chinese restaurants in Brooklyn. Very clean, nice ambiance, withdelicious hot tea, crunchy noodles, all on a nice table cloth and place setting. ??? Read more

What a waste of money. It was the worst Chinese food that I?ve every had. I don?t know if that restaurant is under new... management from years ago, but they need to shut their door right away. We spent 150. 00 dollars for a bunch of lousy food.Whomever prepared our meal need to go back to culinary school. It was terrible. We ordered Young Chow fried rice, barbecue riptips and Shrimp and broccoli. First, the shrimp were old, secondly, the rice look like a chocolate gummy mess and last, theribs were cooked in vinegar. Oh my God you were warned. Stay away take this from me. You won?t be sorry! All of you who aregiving China New Star a rating of a five or four have never had decent Chinese food before. If I could give it a zero I would! If you don?t believe me go on see for yourself. Part of this order was my sisters and she threw her food in the garage after shetasted it. Her food total was 69.00 and mine was 80.00 you do the math. It all adds up to disgusting!!!! Listen people any bodygiving a review after me are lying to the public . Please take my review Serious. I am not from New York. It was a different way of ordering than we do in California... but food was good. Walnut shrimp was... jumbo shrimp yumminess with broccoli crowns all around the serving plate. I got combination plate of chicken broccoli, porkfried rice, egg drop soup and a not so appetizing big egg roll. Another combination plate came with rice, wonton soup, an eggroll and entree of shrimp chicken and veggies. The crispy fried wrapper skins were an added bonus that came complimentary to ourtable. So good. Slightly more expensive than I anticipated but service was good. Read more
