A little Greenpoint gem, with seating our front and in the back garden. They have halloumi croissants.

We were extremely loyal Alula customers, our show would spend upwards of $300 here a week but on our last pickup order one of... our employees was BERATED and YELLED at by one of the employees. It's company policy that we CANNOT tip on pickup orders and ouremployee was yelled at for not tipping.......It's ridiculous, why don't you pay your kitchen staff a living wage or take it upwith the show rather than yelling at a production assistant barely making minimum wage themselves?! I absolutely love this shop. Neighborhood gem for sure, amazing food with a lovely backyard and great service. Their croissants... rival classic french bakeries - the chocolate tahini croissant is a must! Read more

Their almond-flour jam cookies are *amazing*. Also they look tiny from the outside, but have a beautiful little back garden /... seating area with quite a few seats. Read more

Amazing sandwiches! The vegetarian ?shawarma? sandwiches are tasty and flavorful, but the eggplant breakfast is my favorite -... the closest I?ve had to a sabich sandwich since my last trip to Tel Aviv! Lots of vegan options on the menu. The cafe itself isalso a nice place to hang out, with outdoor seating out front and in the backyard. Can?t wait to try the salads and bowls. Read more

The vegan options are really great! I had one of the salads for lunch one day and the cauliflower shawarma and rose lemonade the... next. The salad was delicious but definitely light. The cauliflower shawarma was sooo good!! I think next time I would get itwith more picketed onions. The rose lemonade was not sweet like your traditional lemonade, more like an unsweetened tea butstill delicious! Read more

Service Order taker at window appeared to be having a miserable day. Mind you, it was very cold outside so perhaps that was... contributing to it? She was very short (kept asking anything else after everything single thing we said) and clearly annoyedwith customers. We ordered two beverages, a bowl and a sandwich which took them 30 minutes. I had to get up and ask about ourorder as several other customers after us had already been served and left. After asking, they promptly brought out ourfood. Food/beverages I ordered a dirty chai. Is was decent. It mostly tasted like a latte with A LOT of cinnamon (see pic). Mypartner ordered their pink lemonade. It tasted like strong rose water with a ton of lemon. He ordered the sandwich and said itwas very good. We noticed most people were ordering their sandwiches so this is probably your best bet if you?re going to try itout. I ordered the coconut curry bowl and this was probably the biggest disappointment of the whole visit. It had nearly noflavor. The rice and veggies were all very well prepared. It was just unfortunately extremely bland. Read more
