I've walked past this place for months and never knew what a gem this place is. Service was A-1 and Hassan the owner was... amazing. Two things to note, #1 Black Nile doesn't serve alcohol but you can but you can bring your own and #2 Everything ismade to order so expect to wait at least 20+ minutes for your food. It is worth it though. The venue is small but the decor isnice and sexy. It can be a nice spot to hang out with friends or have a date night. The music was loud and lively. Our party ofsix order many of the items on the menu. Fried chicken, fried catfish, lobster, salmon, shrimp, crab cakes, wings, mac andcheese (regular and seafood), greens, garlic mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, rice, potato salad, cornbread (crab andblueberry). We tried the punch and lemonade as well as the peach cobbler and banana pudding. Everything was delicious and wewere all satisfied. Hassan kept us all happy and satisfied. I ordered the fried chicken with the creole gravy with crab meat.It was tasty but overwhelming for me because it was too much gravy. The chicken was fried golden perfectly. I realized Ipersonally don't like smothered fried chicken and prefer chicken plain. The gravy and the chicken both was a little too salty soit didn't work well together. My friend said her crab cakes were salty. We all enjoyed everything else. My favorite thing wasthe crab cornbread a.k.a. Black Love. We demolished it so quickly I couldn't take a picture of it when it first came out. Ican't wait to go back to try the brunch menu. Read more

The black Nile gives you a wonderful space to feel comfortable once walking in from the lights to the music. Rich in culture... from start to finish, the options of the best tasting dishes to offer regarding soulfood and seafood was amazing. Whether it's apiece of fresh salmon with Mac and cheese or the crispy golden fried chicken with buttery waffles and secret sauce. No matterthe choice, you will still be leaving satisfied with every bite. Read more

First off this place is not fancy. It has a few tables and the vibe of a take out joint. Music is playing (an excellent urban... Playlist) but it's kind of loud so that discourages any meaningful conversation. That being said who needs talk when youhave food this amazing! Everything was incredibly delicious, perfectly seasoned and served with LOVE. The owner is asweetheart who greeted us warmly and literally blessed us as we left. But an even greater blessing was the impeccablyfresh seafood and the world class lemonade. Coconut yams and blueberry cornbread are also not to be missed. Try this places food soon and take a trip to culinary paradise. Read more

I did not know what to choose because I wanted to try a little bit of all of their sides. I ordered the Cajun seafood trio with... Mac and cheese and stuffing as my sides. The seafood was delicious and I really enjoyed the crab cake. It was flaky and notbreaded down as most crab cakes are. I read another review that mentioned the sauce that is poured on top of the seafood wastoo salty (we will address the salt later) so opted to get the sauce on the side. I'm glad that I did. The sauce is heavy andI think it would have drowned the flavoring of the seafood. The Mac and cheese is to die for. Absolutely scrumptious????. The stuffing wasn't your typical stuffing cooked with onions, peppers. It appeared not to have any other vegetables. Iwish that it wasn't soooo salty. I could not eat it all as it actually gave me a headache. Other than that, a dressing wouldhave complimented the stuffing because it was on the dry side. If you are eating in, you will be eating out of the to gopackages and plastic utensils. This was not a problem at all. The staff was pleasant. I will definitely return. Read more
