Bumped into this joint driving to Wholefoods. I love good ice cream so I decided to stop by one the way home. Best Decision... ever! All the ice cream is made fresh on site. It's soooooo good. I had the oatmeal pistachio something and it ????????????(literally). If you nearby, grab some cream you won't regret. Additionally, I'm lactose intolerant and most ice creams destroyme... Had our son's 5th birthday party here last weekend and it was the best! This was actually a rescheduled party - he came down... with a high fever hours before our initial party and the event coordinator, Kristin was very understanding about reschedulingthe event. The best part was we got to show up with the other guests and leave at the same time.. The friendly Ample Hills stafftook care of everything from decorations, music, food and entertainment for us. These guys kind of get a bad rep out there inthe local parent groups regarding parties and private events, but we had a very good experience. The event coordinator got backto us promptly and it was a breeze to set up. Would definitely do another event here again. Read more
My partner and I had Ample Hills Creamery cater our recent Brooklyn wedding reception in lieu of a traditional cake. They were... absolutely great to work with, professional, on-time, reasonably priced, and of course the ice cream was top-notch! It was ahuge hit at our event, especially being a warm June night. Also, the tasting they provided at their main location in Gowanus waspossibly the most fun moment of our wedding planning process. We ate our weight in ice cream, sampling every single flavor instock at the time. Highly recommend over the traditional cake and cake tasting route. Read more
Went 10 minutes before closing and was told they were closed by the nastiest and rudest person ever when asked why was it closed... since it wasn't 9. He was glad to say his name is Cooper and he's in charge and that this Ice cream job doesn't pay enough forhim to care. Meanwhile it was like 10 other people that came as well. It's ice cream it would have taken 5 to 10 minutes toclear us out and close. Thee worse customer service ever. Clearly customer service is not priority. If you like your ice cream to be filled with other desserts and goodies, Ample hills is the shop for you. They have a large... collection of ice cream options with wide ranging mix-ins, all at good prices. The texture is amazing and the sweetness isappropriate. They do not allow samples though. They also have pints to go as well as ice cream cakes. If the three flavors Ihad, ooey gooey butter cake was quite good but the other two, it came from gowanus (store specific flavor) and long meadows werenot good. I felt the saltiness and the orange scented brownies in it came from gowanus were too subtle and the long meadow wasjust not enjoyable. Read more
