Had a very sad and bizarre experience here last winter after work. Service was deliberately slow, no refills, couldn't tell why... until noticed that literally every table had chips and salsa except mine. Thought I was crazy, so I asked my server, she said Ihad to pay. I asked how much(I'd checked the menu 3x, wasn't on it), she hesitated, threw out a rough estimate, then walkedaway. my stomach felt funny but I paid my tab + tip, asked one of the last patrons on my way out how much he paid for his chips& salsa. He laughed and said he didn't; they were free. I felt foolish. I walked up to the bar where the other servers werebussing & carried my tab/tip to my server(had been waiting ages for her to return), and said in the future, she should treateach customer the same. She just lowered her eyes and nodded her head. It felt horrible & humiliating to be singled out in thisway, as the only Black patron there that night, tho I can't be sure if that was why. I was planning to travel downtown this morning for Sunday brunch, I had Thai food in mind! On my way to subway I find out the... train is not running, not in mood for shuttle buses, I changed my mind, and opt for local restaurants near train station,Xochimilco, had good reviews, I decide to experience the summertime menu, shrimp cocktail is delicious, I was impressed with thequality of the hospitality, the all staff is friendly and professional despite the busy hours, for sure I will go back for moredeep mexicain food experience Read more
Really good and quote authentic. It's unassuming and easy to miss on the outside, but inside is a cute mom-and-pop shop with... excellent food and friendly service. Most of the patrons seemed to know the owners, which tells me that it's good enough to keepcoming back. Read more

Hidden Gem in the Bronx. The restaurant is small but it's worth the wait if you can't wait just order in advance. Nice Mexican... Decor when you entered the restaurant. They had hand sanitizerd on every table!! That was definitely a plus!!! I ordered a steakburrito for $9 with a horchata. The burrito was good and it was filled!! The steak was seasoned well not dry lol They also havean XL burrito on the menu which is twice as big!!! I was good with the regular size burrito. My kids ordered chicken and spicypork tacos! They loved it! For dessert, I ordered a tres de leches well I had only a single bite before my children decided todemolish the entire piece. Yes, I highly recommend it if you're in the Bronx. Awesome spot for Mexican food in the S Bronx. Great vibe, friendly service, and delicious food - it?s places like this that put... a lot of Mexican restaurants in Manhattan to shame. I had the molotes - one of their specialties and a dish I?ve not had before.Basically they?re crispy tacos filled with beans and in my case, chorizo. Wonderfully crispy and tasty. And then I had to tryone of their tacos. Got the carnitas - first off, it was packed full. The pork was wonderfully tender and juicy and the corntortilla was moist but held together well.
