This used to be one of the best soul food restaurants in the Bronx. The food I had today wasn't. The yams were watery with a... hint of sweetness, the mac n cheese and fried fish were bland. The owner and his daughter have no customer service skills atall. They were dispassionate to the point they were rude. Mr. Johnson. It's been many years since I left NYC. I use to be there faithfully every Wednesday when I brought my young adults... up to the Bronx for basketball practice. I don't know if you'd remember me but I must say you have been the best part of theBronx for me. I use to travel far from Brooklyn for your food. My wife always wanted potato salad but you were always out. Ilove the fried chicken, mac n cheese, candied yams and them collard greens. I was so excited to try this again (after 15 years) beings that my mom use to take me all the time as a kid and everything use... to be so full of flavor. This was my 1st time ordering as an adult and I must say that I could not find any kind of season onanything. I ordered the chicken meal with 2 sides.. Mac and collard greens and a iced tea. The Mac is mushy and tasteless, thegreens were not seasoned at ALL.. even the big piece of fried chicken had no taste. I had to end up ordering again fromsomewhere else. If you've lost your sense of taste, this place is for you. I was really excited about trying their food. It was beyond... underwhelming. I'll venture to say... disgusting. Large portions of bland (no)soul food. The ribs were blah! It neededseasoning. The mac and cheese was like mush. It had potential but was over cooked. The yams and collard greens should havestayed in whatever field they were farmed from. My ancestors are truly angered by this blasphemous rendition of bbq. Admittedly,the peas and rice were good but what a waste of take-out containers. If I could take away 5 stars to make this review anegative, I would. You've been given a heads up, go buy chinese.
