My friend wanted Peruvian food but there really isn?t any around here so I suggested we come here since I remember it being so... yummy and I told him it?s the spot. I haven?t been here in a few years and the last time I ordered delivery was just drinks fromthe other location. He drove an hour and a half to have lunch with me here and I am so embarrassed to have suggested it. Thefood was terrible and not at all how I remembered. The empanada fillings were dry and not really any flavor. The dipping saucewas good but do you really want to rely on that to make the food edible? I ordered the Churrasco which was about half the sizeit used to be and I ordered it medium rare and it came well done. I don?t send back food because that?s not a chance I?m willingto take so I ate about half of it drowned in the worst chimichurri I?ve ever had. All garlic and no other flavor. What theyclaim is escabeche was just a few raw slivered onions and tomatoes. There was absolutely no smoked bacon on my plate and myfriend?s white rice had more flavor than my Moro de mami. Speaking of which, his food was also severely lacking flavor. The bestpart of our meal was the juice. I felt terrible for making him come here. Excellent service, frequent water refills and extra napkins, checked on regularly. Comfortable decor dark wood and leather and... ceiling fans of bamboo which reminds me of the islands. You want some great food?! We traveled from Uptown Manhattan to get to this gem. Great food, great music, great atmosphere. We... came on a Sunday morning and it was already happening. Our server, Tano (who is also a musician and singer) was amazing! He wascaring and just spoke to us like if we were family. Highly recommended for the food, the atmosphere, and the staff. Come for the food, stay for the Comedy. The Monday that feels like a Friday. Monday night features the Legendary Comedian... IMAGINE. Funny for real, Imagine hosts a show of Stand up Comedians, (lately including myself @budabugginout), that will makeyou laugh while you enjoy the great food and drinks this Cafe has to offer. Great food! Great pricing. So fun. Warning, if you don?t like crowds and loud noise stay away. This energetic vibrant atmosphere... is not for you. Staff are on their toes and your food and drink delivered with flourish and a smile. Live band on Thursdayevening made dinner and after-happy-hour crowd very happy. Clean, Unisex bathrooms and real close seating make this restaurantfeel like a very large family gathering of boisterous and very diverse family members.
