I thought I was going to enjoy the food since it's a Jamaica restaurant but I was disappointed. I told my family that I could... feel it in my bones that the food was not going to be good. The only FLAVA I tasted was vinegar, salt, and peppers. The food isnot palatable. Read more

Food is always good. The service can be a bit slow as it's quite understandable considering that Flavas is not a big restaurant... and there are times when it gets very busy especially during lunch time. Although, they have limited staff, they do strive toaccommodate the customers. Read more

I love this place! The food is fantastic and they have vegetarian options for guys like me. Phillip who is the owner is the... sweetest guy and greeted me like I?ve been going there my whole life. This is a small, family owned and operated business and itfeels that way. Perfect place to eat before a game. Why spend money on overpriced stadium food when great local establishmentsare right there. Read more

I?ve been going here for years and was extremely disappointed with the service I received yesterday. I got a dinner portion of... oxtail with two side for $24.95 plus tax. The portions are way smaller and definitely overpriced. The food was dry and notflavorful. Read more

I?ve know about Flavas since they first opened. I was glad I had a new option for Jamaican food. At first the food was tasty and... plentiful. Serving large portions of food is the hallmark of this restaurant. However as the years went buy it seemed thebusiness has changed. One of my biggest complaints is the food is treated like slop! The food is sevred onto the plate likeslop! The hot table is kept like slop! It appears they get a lot of business and are short staffed. I went late in the day. Thefood taste like its made for the masses. This is not your Jamaican Mama?s secret receipt. The food is not cook for style orfashion it?s cooked to serve large portions and to make money. One of my major complaints from the beginning is the food is toooily. Most selection are soaking in oil. The staff are civil never friendly. This is what you will find in at most JamaicanRestaurants. Don?t go in there looking for a smile or a hi how are you because that is not going to happen! The price isbasically what everyone is charging during inflation. I don?t blame them for that. The rice should be keep in a rice steamer andnot on the hot table. The hot table dries out the rice. I got curried chicken rice and peas with collard greens and mac & cheesefor $17.95. The place needs a fresh coat of paint. Most business are finding it hard to stay a float. That is most likely partof the issue also. They had a lot of food late at night on a Friday. 1) Food. 7 2) Presentation 2 3) Flavor 5 4) Quality. 5 5)Quantity 10 6) Atmosphere 5 7) Friendliness 3 8) Price 8 10) Cleanliness 6 Read more

Excellent experience right near Yankee Stadium. The food is beyond tremendous and you can order ahead to get your order ready to... go! The oxtail, the baked chicken and the whiting were off the chain. Licking my fingers and did not use napkins. The Mac &Cheese was delightful while the mixed cabbage made sure you go some vegetables in your system. So if you are near 161st Streetin the Bronx, stop by Flavas and enjoy yourself! Read more
