City Tamale with no Tamales. Went there today to bring home some tamales. Mind you, this is at 1:30 in the afternoon, To my... surprise, they were out of all of them except Chicken( which was fair at best). They also ran out of corn toppings. Is it toomuch to ask a tamale named restaurant to have Tamales in stock?. This is like McDonalds running out of burgers. The nice youngman at the counter was apologetic( hence the one star), said there was some event, which is no excuse, they should be preparedfor that. If you still want to get tamales here, Call beforehand as they always run out( apparently even at lunchtime). Also ,parking is horrible, They should change the name to ? No City Tamales) Read more
*Edited Review* I had placed an order for 24 tamales. When I arrived home I was short 10 tamales. It was Christmas Eve and I was... obviously very upset. I reached out to management and they were truly sorry for the mistake. They even offered to bring metamales the next morning! A unique place that focus on tamales. They have a variety of flavors to choose from, even vegetarian options. Everyone should be... able to find a flavor they like. I really enjoyed having a tamale witth egg, which is their most popular dish. I washed it downwith a delicious champurado drink. It was the perfect breakfast. Located in the Hunts Point area the restaurant has a verypretty green and yellow theme. The staff was very friendly. We tried several other flavor of tamales, they all tasted great.
