My fiancé and I had a wonderfully scrumptious sushi/sashimi platter consisting of beautiful thick cut fresh assortment of fish.... The fish was perfectly cool to the tongue and firm. The combination platter was served with miso soup as well as a salad. Wewashed down the exquisite platter by pairing the dish with an Asahi beer for me and a cool glass of chardonnay for her. Thedining area consisted of a long stretched wall couch with tables and chairs to match and face the bench. Along the opposite wallwere smartly matched tables for two. The quiet, conservative emporium made the dinner palatable and easy. I loved the asian artscattered along the wall to add to the artistic and classy ambiance. I give 4.5 stars..this place is really something special. I?ve tried beef negemaki at a few places and this place just does it... the best. It has been consistently spectacular and I highly recommend it. I?ve ordered omakase and the service was particularlyspectacular for that experience. Because I prefer just a few of the fishes due to my taste. I would stick with just The kingsalmon and otoro fatty tuna next time. They bring melt in your mouth to a new level. Honestly one of the best neighborhood type Japanese places there is. Super friendly. High quality food. Always fresh. Small... menu, but that also let's them execute to their best. Come on, order for delivery or pickup, whatever. Just be a customer! Read more
Beautiful place. Celebrated my son's birthday. Everything was good. I find the food off with the taste. Just mild not up to par... with other sushi restaurants. But good to try. The fried ice cream was not good. Pass on that. Read more
Aoyu sushi has a high quality level of sushi for an affordable price that one would not think you could get in the Bronx.... Normally, you would expect Manhattan or queens to have great sushi. But here, tucked away in Riverdale, I was served an amazingOmakase. The fish fell apart like butter, was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully dressed. The service itself was great, too.Albeit, I came in on a quiet night but they were very attentive to me. The miso soup was also wonderful - not too salty anddidn't taste like the pre-packaged kind. Great lunch special, reasonable prices and very good miso soup. We went there few times for dinner and love to sit at sushi bar... observing chefs making our sushi. The fish is very fresh and delicious . Love the hot towels too before they serve the meal.Overall truly enjoyable experience as a customer and our kids love it too. Read more
