While the portions were good, the quality was just ok. They give you cold butter for your crab!!! What??? The garlic butter... shrimp wasn?t very flavorful. It is seafood in Oklahoma, so perhaps I?m being too critical, but this place was kinda pricey? somy standard is higher. If you give people messy food you use your hands to eat, provide a hand washing station outside so youdon?t ave to figure out how to open a door to get to the bathroom to wash your dirty hands. Should have spent a little more money on an oil thermometer and less money on the unnecessary TV menus. Both the calamari and... catfish were WAY soggy. The batter was crisp, but the calamari and fish were WAY too limp and wet. Likely, these were fried inoil which was not hot enough and caused them to absorb too much oil and get soggy. So sad, because the flavor was actually OK.The seasonings in the breading on each was flavorful, but they were barely edible. ???? Staff was friendly and place was mostlyclean. Prices were high compared to other similar local venues. Portions were generous, but not worth the $ for the incrediblylow quality - first time in forever that I didn't finish a meal. ???????? Staff was nice. Food was so so. I had the 6 jumbo fried shrimp. They seemed to be medium shrimp that they over butterfly and... they must pound them out real thin. It made the very dry. They use a corn meal coating that didn't taste bad, I just never hadshrimp that dry and thin. I also had a lobster chowder, it tasted good. The wife had the red fish and it was a bit over cookedor dry as well. She also ordered clams on the half shell that were very small, meat size was about the size of a dime. It isalso fairly pricey for the quality and having to order and pick up your own food. But again the staff was nice. Read more
The shrimp boil was super yummy ???? It was really busy but the staff did an excellent job keeping up and did it with a smile.... If you see a long line don't leave they do a great job working through it quickly. The food is worth it. Read more
Came to Shuck Me for dinner one night. The restaurant prices are reasonable, the ambience of the inside is casual. The food was... alright, I ordered the gumbo and fried fish with shrimp. I would give the gumbo three out of five stars, it was good but lackedshrimp and the rice was dry. The fried fish and shrimp were 4/5 and the hush puppies 5/5. Overall rating 3/5 Read more
So while we were staying in Hochatown we visited five restaurants. This one is my personal favorite! Oyster Poboy Burger Kid?s... Catfish (not pictured) Fried Cherry Pie (not pictured) Crablegs (so good that I didn?t get a picture of it) The owner is areally nice older guy. I saw him helping out with the cleaning and he even chatted with us for a while. The bar is outside. Iasked the bartender for a ?not too fruity? drink. He made me a Malibu Barbie. The drink was ok but you would need like 10 ofthem if you?re trying to get a buzz. My husband said that the cherry pie was the best he?s had in at least five years. Thecrablegs were REALLY good! They were not drenched in sauces like most boils have but the flavor was there. Yes, it?s pricey butif you have an itch for cherry pie and crablegs this is the place. Read more
LOBSTER CHOWDER. Do it. It's amazing - they are not stingy with the lobster meat and it is hot, rich and savory. I had the Mahi... Mahi with garlic butter and my dining companion had the swordfish. Both were very good, mine steak like and his, light andflaky. I recommend ordering extra garlic butter sauce and scraping the bits onto your fish. Sides were fine, but the true standout was the grilled zucchini with lemon pepper. Worth the line. Read more
We ordered the Fried Sampler for each of us. It did not disappoint!! Each piece of food was so fresh & yummy we sat & looked at... each other as we indulged in our dinner, & when we were done, we were already planning our next visit!! (We also had half ofeach meal left to take home.)The food was friggin AWESOME ???????????? Service was top notch, atmosphere was beautiful. We ateoutside in back, & saw deer going around the pond & up into the woods. Beautifully decorated with old boat motors on the porchas you enter the place, cute ways of using fishing equipment as decor all over & esp in the back where we ate.Its pet friendly,so 2 couples had their sweet pups with them, which was nice & no bother.
