Disappointed things seem to be shrinking. This was a large cod order which we share. Been going to Dons for years off and on but... with tax $23 for 1 dinner and the pieces are smaller than in the past. Tons of chips but not crispy. Tried a couple other localfish and chip shops and price less, pieces larger. Glad we don't eat out much anymore. Read more

This place was talked up as the best in town?the customer service was great, fast and very friendly. We were disappointed with... the fish. We had the haddock and not only were the pieces quite small but, it was very much like eating frozen boxed fish thathad maybe been cooked in oil that was not hot enough to do the job, the batter was heavy, dark and greasy. The fries were good, crispy outside and like butter on the inside with the perfect amount of salt. Read more

As usual the fish and chips were hot and delicious. The fries are really done well. The fish is prepared so differently than... other places. Love heading to the park on the water to eat our lunch. Read more

Unsatisfying ???????? We ordered two large meals ( One Haddock $20, one Cod $20), a small poutine, and a hotdog. Our bill ran... up to almost $70. I give 1 star because the portions for fries were huge, but for the price and quality of food, it wasoverpriced. The fish itself was decent, imo the cod was better than the haddock, less batter. But the fries were so greasy, andoverdone, even my 3 year old, who is basically made of potato at this point, would not eat them. The hot dog was all beef, butover cooked and dry, and the poutine was dry, very minimal curds and gravy. AND Kraft Tartar sauce?! What kind of a harbour townfish and chips joint serves store bought tartar sauce!? And they gave 4 packets of ketchup for all the fries, after I asked forextra. The customer service was mediocre, the server at the window was short and not very welcoming. Read more

Surprised by some of the reviews. The service was pleasant and the food was good. The fish coating was certainly different... (definitely bread-y and quite sweet) but it wasn?t bad! Huge serving of fries too. The poutine was also nice. Read more

The fried fish is perfectly breaded and not too greasy. The chips are generous and cooked through. We like to order a 2 piece... split between us and picnic in the park by the water in the summertime. Read more

Randomly stumbled upon it while looking for restaurants on google maps, and decided to check it out. The food was fantastic -... very fresh and tasty. My only disappointment was that they used packets of tartar sauce. You'd generally expect a place likethis to have some homemade. Read more
