This is a great old school village style bar. The beer selection is surprisingly good....several excellent craft selections,... along with all the standard choices. The staff was really welcoming and friendly. The menu is very interesting, and I hadhigh hopes for the food, but the execution of the selections we tried was unimpressive at best. The coleslaw tasted likeonions, the curly fries looked great but tasted like plain potatoes, and both of our roast beef sandwich entrees were mediocre. The Barber's Balboa had the overwhelming taste of black and cayenne pepper. I didn't detect any savory sauces or cheese flavorat all...a recipe re-do seems like a logical solution...it's just not good. The Original tasted like unseasoned grilled beefwith cheese, which I suppose is really all it is. I sincerely believe they'd be wise to hire a competent person to run thekitchen and tweak the recipes. Bad food aside, we still had a great time. It's a cool place. This place is a well kept secret in Brockport, New York. The food is absolutely awesome. They have a large draft beer selection... with over 30 taps and the staff has always got a friendly smile on their face. It's a great place to watch the Buffalo Billsgames and it has everything it needs to fit in the official dive bar category. Read more
We were there for lunch. First of all we had to order our food inside, which was ok, but there we had to wait 10 minutes for the... waitress to order. After that we sat outside and we?re waiting for our food, for more then an hour. Other guests were comingafter us and ordering the same food were served earlier then us. After an hour we asked the waitress when our food will arrive,she told us in 15 minutes it should be there. So we asked friendly to get our money back, because we saw that guests comingafter us were served earlier. The owner told us that they were doing it the same way for 30 years. As non-locals we felt kind ofignored and we can not recommend to go there as a non-local. Read more
Wanted to try out a local spot which we don't do often and we picked this place. Absolutely no regrets! Great food, beer, and... most of all service! The bar tender was extremely nice, helpful, and patient with us as we have never really been into the barscene and explained how a tab works LOL. I will definitely be going back! Read more
We went here on a Friday (9/16/22) around lunch time and it was pretty busy. That being said the young man behind the bar was... incredibly helpful and very polite. He walked us through how the process went, asked if we wanted to sit inside or outside, andproceeded to provide us with incredible service the whole time we were there. Plenty of beer to select from. Local stuff too. Wings and food are great. Outside seating in great too. SEVERS FOOD LATE
