Reviews for Le Central in Bristol, RI
My husband and I often come here for Sunday brunch. Today, we each ordered a Mint Mojito cocktail for starters...the BEST we've... ever had, anywhere. We'd also like to mention the cinnamon popovers...these are the real thing. They come 4 at a time in a poolof melted, spiced butter. We tear the popovers open by hand, and watch the steam arise from the center, dipping each morsel inthe melted cinnamon butter. Sheer ambrosia...we order these every time! Read more
Enjoyable French bistro with consistently tasty meals. Classic dishes are on point; Coq Au Vin is delightful in its velvety... crimson sauce, the Croque Monsieur is rich and substantial (is that a touch of béchamel?). The salad mains are on the smallerside and very well put together. Specials bring variety to the menu focusing a bit more on the season. The folks working at LeCentral are warmly welcoming and helpful. Le Central achieves the rare status as a restaurant to dine at days in a row. Read more
Best place In Bristol! My husband and our 10 year old had a lovely dinner with great service. Everything we had was delicious -... onion soup, oysters, ceviche, Moroccan chicken, duck leg, brioche pudding and creme brulee. The menu has something foreveryone. Cocktails were made with the freshest ingredients. The owner was on premises to create a welcoming, great experience. Read more
It's a very cozy and comfortable French restaurant. The server was very kind and attentive. The only reason I took one star from... 5 stars even though I liked the atmosphere, service and foods was because of a little bit of less variety of Lunch menu. Istarted with French onion soup. This was so good! Most of times, I couldn't finish my soup as it was too salty for me. Thefrench onion soup here was just good enough! Not salty. I finished all. I wanted try more French like foods like Duck confit butfor lunch, they serve salads, soups and sandwiches. ( There were foods which was made with duck liver mousse but it was tooadventurous for me but I want to try next time!) I'm not a big fan of sandwiches so I ordered Moroccan chicken salad which wasvery healthy and light but good portion for me. My husband ordered Salmon which served with nicely cooked vegetables and it wasdelicious. I liked that they gave us several options the size of drinks. I love to have a little bit of wine with my food but Ican't drink a lot and always left half of glass. But they served 3 oz of wine which was perfect for me. We had Waffle as adessert which was delicious too. I want to come back for dinner to have French entrees next time. Read more
A very unique French restaurant. The food is so delicious. The server is so kind and attentive. Definitely worth trying.
I love love love this restaurant. I'm from out of town but whenever we are in the Newport area to visit family we make sure to... come to Le Central at least once or more during our visit. Restaurant is charming, the wine is delicious, the service is greatand the food is great. I happen to be gluten free and they will allow me to bring in a gluten-free baguette and will preparethe French onion soup with my gluten-free bread. Which is pretty awesome because,.. well --you need the bread in Fr. Onionsoup! Of course I'll be back! Read more
The restaurant was small, quaint and inviting. Our waiter was friendly and attentive. The food was amazing from start to finish.... The Salad of Endive and Roasted Beets then The Moroccan Chicken followed by the creme brulee was the perfect choices for theevening. The Coq Au Vin was also amazing. Will definitely be back with friends soon. Read more
This was a disappointment from the moment our hostess sat us under a ceiling fan to their average "French" food. Upon being... seated, we had asked for one of the other empty 15 tables, but the hostess said we must sit there. I thought maybe a party wascoming, but only one table of walk-in... We should have left in the beginning, but we were there hungry, so stayed. The foodwas ok, not special. We didn't recognize the Moroccan chicken. It was dry with light seasoning. I asked for a sweet wine formy husband and was told that they don't have sweet wine. Later, I noticed that the menu HAD dessert wine!! Too late.... Hehad water. The cauliflower soup was nice, but no croutons for texture. We did not feel inspired for dessert. The fan was sodistracting on my husband's bald head and food so average that it was not a special birthday meal for my husband, a Frenchcitizen. We had expected a French bistro. Read more
